Commanders,
It's March, which means it's time for another round of the Top of the Tree special. In the spotlight this time is the T110E4, one of the most popular and versatile tank destroyers in the game, that traded the bulky superstructure for a rotating turret.

The T110E4 is definitely an interesting vehicle and the tank of choice for many players in Tier X battles. The reason for this is its versatility, stemming partly from the fact that it has a rotatable turret and partly from its decent design. The T110E4 is quite fast for a tank destroyer of its size and weight, although the turning speed leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, its frontal armour is quite good and the gun mantlet provides very reliable protection. In addition, the tank is equipped with quite a powerful and accurate 155mm gun, which, in combination with the turret and a good gun depression value, opens a wide variety of tactical possibilities on the battlefield.
However, the vehicle has a few downsides, which even out the advantages of these traits. First and foremost, the T110E4 only has any real armour on the front – the sides and the rear are very weak and have a high chance of sustaining module damage when shot, especially the engine and ammo rack. Secondly, the turret armour is virtually flat, without any sloping even on the front. This means that it’s nowhere near as reliable as the mantlet and may require angling while facing the enemy. When mentioning the turret, we need to draw your attention to the fact that it can only operate within a 180° angle (90° per side). This means that even though you aren’t as vulnerable to flanking as the average tank destroyer, if the enemy manages to get behind you it might get very nasty, very quickly.
When playing the T110E4, your primary role on the battlefield will be to support your heavies and deal damage to exposed or engaged enemy vehicles. Keeping in mind the weak sides and rear, stick to the second line and never allow yourself to be caught in the open. If you do, even enemy scouts can make short work of you while circling around your vehicle and shooting at the sides. Remember that you have a turret and good gun depression; use these for effective hull-down and peek-a-boo tactics. Lastly, if the situation is truly dire, assume the role of a heavy tank and move to the first line to help in stopping the enemy advance. Be careful though, you are prone to module damage and your reload time is not the fastest. Therefore, don’t make the mistake of being the one spearheading the counter offensive.
Tank Tip: As aforementioned, the T110E4 is quite prone to ammo rack and engine damage. The former is particularly exposed to getting hit, especially via shots delivered to the sides of the lower glacis and to the sides of the vehicle. Therefore, we strongly advise you to:
