Object 140

“I float like a butterfly, I sting like a bee – you know you can’t hit what your gunner can’t see!”

Vehicle Overview

The Object 140 is quite popular among medium tank drivers thanks to its universal character: it is fast, nimble, and its gun is characterised by an excellent rate of fire, which translates into superb damage per minute. Moreover, it is quite small for a medium tank, has a low profile and quite a good camouflage rating for a vehicle of its class. All these traits, combined with good accuracy, strong turret armour and a gun depression you can work with, make the Object 140 very reliable and responsive.

However, the tank has a few downsides, which can be quite a pain in the heat of battle. First of all, its small frame means that the modules are cramped together and as a result are easy to damage. The fuel tank and ammo rack are especially prone to failure once shells start flying in your direction – a rather depressing thought, considering that having either of them damaged can be your ticket back to the garage. Last but not least comes the turret: it was previously mentioned that it’s quite sturdy and that is true – except for its top. The problem is the two hatches on the top (common weak spots on any tank) are quite large, and therefore relatively easy to hit. What is more, the roof armour is also very thin, which means it can easily be outmatched and penetrated by most calibres featured in Tier X battles.

While in battle, the Object 140 is a great support vehicle, capable of assuming a variety of roles, such as flanker, artillery hunter, interceptor, base defender and it is also a welcome addition to any medium tank wolfpack. The key is to use your mobility to avoid enemy fire and make clever use of your surroundings for cover. Remember that your tank is quite prone to module damage. Not only do you risk losing Hit Points in large chunks, but whenever you expose yourself to opposing fire you risk being sent straight to the garage, due to either an ammo rack explosion or an engine fire. Also, when hull-down, remember your weak turret top and try not to exchange shots back and forth with the enemy for too long.

Tank Tip: Due to its exceptional mobility and low profile, the Object 140 can also assume the role of the team’s spotter and help allied light tanks effectively. Therefore, it is a good idea to invest in the Camouflage skill on your crewmembers at some point, in order to decrease your chances of being detected by the enemy. When scouting, always keep in mind, however, that you are still a medium tank with an excellent damage output. As a result, your scouting should be careful and a matter of opportunity rather than an actively pursued role – if you’re ambushed too far away from your peers, you can get destroyed rather easily and that can be a major blow to your team’s chances for victory.

In order to maximise your performance on the battlefield, we suggest installing the following equipment:

Coated Optics

Large-Caliber Tank Gun Rammer

Vertical Stabilizer Mk 1

In addition, your crewmembers should learn the following skills and perks:

Crew member

1st Skill 2nd Skill 3rd Skill

Commander/ Radio Operator

Gunner

Driver

Loader

As always, please consider the setup for both the equipment and crew skills as suggestions. Feel free to experiment on your own and choose what you think works best for you.

Roll out, Commanders!
