WZ-111 Model 5A

The WZ-111 model 1-4 on Tier IX leads to two top-tier Chinese heavy tanks. There is the 113, that takes a different development direction compared to the previous vehicles, and there is the WZ-111 model 5A, which this guide is dedicated to. As the natural successor of the WZ-111 model 1-4, you'll love this beast if you already liked the previous tank's play style!

Gameplay

We hope you are used to dealing with the WZ-111 model 1-4's armour scheme, as the 5A adopts the same design. It brings a couple of improvements to the table though. This includes a thicker frontal hull armour and turret armour. On top of that, the gun depression angle has been slightly improved, which helps you hide behind terrain better. However, this doesn't make you Mr. Invincible. It may be effective against lower-tier vehicles, but Tier X opponents have no issues penetrating your front, especially your lower frontal plate.

Keep in mind not to angle your vehicle but to stand straight to the enemy. Otherwise, you negate the favourable angles, and you also expose your weak side-armour. Side-scraping doesn't work that well, the risk isn't worth it.

It kept the 130 mm gun from its predecessor, with a couple of noteworthy improvements obviously. The largest would be the increased reload speed, raising its potential damage per minute on the level of many medium tanks. The accuracy and aiming time saw minor improvements, but you should still use the same set of equipment as on the previous vehicle.

The WZ-111 model 5A is a heavy-medium tank hybrid overall, also thanks to its good mobility. What this means is that you can either go with your heavy or medium tanks. Check out the team composition during the countdown. Too many super-heavy tanks? You might want to go with your medium tanks then. Use your superior damage per minute against heavy tanks or trade shots with medium tanks.

To get the most out of the already superb damage per minute, go for the Tank Gun Rammer. We also recommend the Vertical Stabilizer, plus an Enhanced Gun Laying Drive for a shorter aiming time. However, if you prefer a small boost in overall performance instead, try out Improved Ventilation for the last pick.
