BATTLE PASS 2022: SEASON VIII

Battle Pass is back again! Season VIII is here for the entire summer, from June 1, 2022, at 05:30 CEST through August 31, 2022 at 02:30 CEST (UTC+2). It's going to be a hot Season—and also a memorable one. The backstory will take you into the Warhammer 40,000 universe, with an epic confrontation between three commanders from the grimdark future. These mighty champions will become your recruits after you complete their respective Season VIII Chapters. Other rewards include three imposing progressive 3D styles inspired by the commanders’ specific factions, Battle Pass Tokens to be exchanged for rare Tier IX vehicles (including the empowered Cobra), 2D styles, and much more. After you complete all the three Chapters, you'll be able to get your hands on some of the rewards from the Seasons that came before.
 
Volusad Thassius
Lieutenant Volusad Thassius is part of (probably) the most distinguished Chapter of Space Marines, the elite fighting force of the Imperium of Man spanning a million of worlds. His strength of will and impeccable discipline rest upon a rock-solid foundation: his unshakeable faith in the Emperor of Mankind.
Dolgoth Sepk
Death Guard Champion Dolgoth Sepk, a heretic Space Marine, has fully accepted Chaos God Nurgle, the Great Corruptor. He has embraced the sloth and the rot—for decay and death are part of life. The only thing that disturbs him is the continuing existence of his former brethren loyal to the Emperor.

All Orks live to seize the day, driven by their appetite for destruction and urge for domination. But Kroglin is also a Mek, an intuitive engineer…

Mechanics-wise, this Season is just like the previous one. Begin with the Chapter of your choice to start earning its rewards. Pause it and switch to another without losing your progress, if you wish. You can play with Ultramarine-grade intensity: after you finish all the Chapters, excess Battle Pass Points can be turned into rewards from past Seasons and other great goodies. Just don't forget to spend all your Points before Season VIII ends!
The reward 3D styles of Season VIII are unlike those that came before. With them, this Season's Core Vehicles get a visual overhaul inspired by three iconic—and very different—Warhammer 40,000 factions. The E 100 embodies the valor of Ultramarines, the protectors of the Imperium of Man. The Object 430U projects the unholy spirit of the heretic Space Marines from the Death Guard worshiping Nurgle, the Chaos God of corruption and decay. The STB-1 shows off the savage aggressiveness of the Orks from the Evil Sunz clan, ready to krump everything in the name of warlike Ork deities, Gork and Mork.
The 3D styles are progressive. Get them for free as Base Rewards and upgrade them from Level I through Level IV as you earn Battle Pass Points and reach certain Stages.
 
Levels I–IV
Imperial Aquila. The symbol of the two-headed eagle that represents the Imperium. It may also symbolize the ‘Pax Imperialis’ that binds together all Imperial servants under the banner of the Emperor of Mankind.
 
Level IV
Storm Shield. A Storm Shield is a shield often used by the Space Marines for protection from both missile fire and melee strikes. It carries a generator which unleashes a burst of crackling lightning when struck, thus giving the shield its name.
 
Levels I–IV
Purity Seals. Purity Seals are ubiquitous in the fighting forces of the Imperium. Wax seals with strips of prayer-inscribed parchment are attached to weapons, armor, and vehicles alike. Amongst other things they may signify the absence of any Chaos taint.
 
Levels III and IV
Guidance System. The Machine Spirits within these advanced systems allow munitions to find their target, no matter how obscured they may be.
 
Level IV
Mark X Tacticus Space Marine Helmet. Developed by the Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl, Mark X 'Tacticus' armor is more advanced than Firstborn plate. It features Cawl's ingenious developments in power armor technology. These suits are worn into battle by Primaris Space Marines and are standard issue throughout the ongoing Indomitus Crusade.
 
Levels III and IV
Banner. The use of Banners is an important part of how the Space Marines' wage war. They not only serve in practical terms to identify units and vehicles on the battlefield, but are also marks of honor. The need to defend them has inspired countless acts of heroism. They also play a role in ceremony and are proudly displayed during victory parades and triumphs.
 
Level IV
Icarus Ironhail Heavy Stubber. An Icarus Ironhail Heavy Stubber is an improved version of a Heavy Stubber—a ballistic Auto Weapon designed for sustained fire. It is widely used in the Imperium of Man as an anti-air gun.
 
Levels III and IV
Auto Bolt Rifle. The Bolter is synonymous with the Adeptus Astartes. It is a powerful assault weapon that fires explosive kinetic rounds (known as ‘bolts’). The Mark II Cawl Pattern Bolt Rifle is the most advanced version of this archetypal firearm. It was re-crafted by the Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl for use by his newly-made Primaris Space Marines.
 
Levels II–IV
Melta Bombs. Melta Bombs are explosive devices making use of Melta Weapons technology to unleash potent blasts of thermal energy. They are excellent against armored targets.
 
Levels I–IV
Ultima Icon. The Ultramarines Chapter (who began life as the Thirteenth Legion) takes to the field in its distinctive deep blue livery, often chased with gold and accented by those colors strictly defined by the Codex Astartes. The ancient "Ultima '' icon identifies the Chapter. This icon was found on the pre-isolation stellar charts of the Ultramar region and was adopted by the Legion to tie the Ultramarines to their protectorate realm.

Level IV
Dozer Blade. Like all other armies, the Death Guard often have to move through debris. A dozer blade is invaluable if routes are blocked.
 
Level IV
Plague Spewer. Potent maladies and poisons devised by Nurgle himself can turn the tide of a battle by eroding the enemy’s ability to fight. Plague Spewers unleash such contagions on those who dare to approach.
 
Levels I–IV
Nurgle's Rot. Nurgle’s Rot is one of the most effective and contagious diseases created by this Chaos God.
 
Levels III and IV
Bell of Nurgle. Hearing the chimes of a Bell of Nurgle is an ill omen, for it is sure to herald the approach of the Lord of Decay’s ghastly forces.
 
Level IV
Helmet. The minions of Chaos show their eternal allegiance to their dark masters by displaying trophies won in battle. Helmets are a popular choice.
 
Levels II–IV
The Tube System. Much as a mortal body relies on blood and sinews to function, daemon-corrupted Chaos war machines often feature tubes to move mysterious and noxious fluids around their systems.

Mark of Nurgle. This Mark of Chaos is borne by the most devout of Nurgle's followers, blessed with their Grandfather’s gifts of sickness, rot, and decay.
 
Levels I–IV
Lanterns. While Nurgle bestows many gifts upon his loyal grandchildren, the ability to see in the dark is not one of them. Lanterns aid visibility, and may also act as lures for unwary troops lost in the fog of war.
 
Levels II–IV
Spikes. Chaos war machines are often covered with all manner of spines and spikes. They act as a deterrent to opponents and allow the crew to display bodies as a mark of abeyance to their daemonic masters.
 
Level IV
Barbed Wire. While primitive, this ancient defensive material still has value in the 41st millennium, deterring would-be assailants from clambering onto a tank’s hull.

Level IV
Evil Sunz Icon. Those Orks who enjoy fast (and loud) motorized combat more than any other sort of fighting flock to the Evil Sunz Clan.
 
Levels I–IV
Big Shoota. A really big gun. Everything looks better down its sights, especially when you're expecting guests. Once they arrive, aim at them and wish them ‘all da best’.

Ork Exhaust System. Faster means louder. A well-oiled Ork Exhaust System helps drivers reach the enemy sooner and start the fun earlier.
 
Levels II–IV
Stikkbomb Chukka. To lob lots of Stikkbombs at the enemy, one needs a crude-but-effective contraption. Just like this one.
 
Levels II–IV
Reinforced Ram. One size fits all: this ram can deal with any obstacle, be it a wall, an enemy vehicle, or a wrecked enemy vehicle.

Orkumulator. A sparky gadget picked up after a recent fight. With it, the engine can be started up real fast. But don't operate it while sporting any particularly outrageous Hair Squigs, for if they get caught in its workings it’s not pretty.

Buzz Saw. A huge, circular sawblade. The weapon of choice for Killa Kans and not out of place on other vehicles.
 
Level IV
Stikkbombs. Stikkbombs are Ork grenades in the form of a stick, consisting of a stick and a bomb. Such daring concepts are hard to grasp for some Orks, and so the name helps to minimize confusion. This works most of the time.
 
Level IV
Ork Banner. Orks are fond of proclaiming their allegiances to their Clan or Boss with fancy banners. They often keep spare ones just in case they need to ‘reconsider’ whose side they’re on.
 
Levels III and IV
Big Bomm. Despite their menacing name, Big Bomms are actually one of the smallest types of Ork bombs. Nonetheless they are effective.

Ork Engine. This rattler makes the tank go fast. Don't touch it!

STB-1 "Teefbreaka" STYLE
As always, there's a big bunch of valuable Base and Improved Rewards. You receive something for every Stage of every Season VIII Chapter. Tokens are a special reward currency exclusive to Battle Pass. They accumulate over the course of the year from all the Seasons of Battle Pass you take part in throughout 2022. In Season VIII, you can earn up to 21 Tokens: 12 among the Base Rewards, and 9 more among the Improved Rewards. Spend Tokens in the Items for Tokens section of the in-game Store to redeem valuable items and rare Tier IX vehicles, including the Cobra. This British medium tank—sporting an autoloader and wielding HESH shells—has had its stats revised. In Season VIII, the most patient of you can claim it.

HOW TO GET THE IMPROVED PASS

You can obtain the Improved Pass for 2,500 gold for each Season VIII Chapter in a variety of ways: on the Battle Pass screen in your Garage, in the in-game Store, or as part of a special bundle. You can purchase the Improved Pass for more than one Chapter at a time. Please make sure to come back to any Chapters you paused, or you may be missing out on rewards.
