Improvements to Personal Missions And Reward Tanks

At the end of 2018, in Update 1.3 we slightly adjusted the missions of the first operation of the Second Front campaign. At that time, we simplified the conditions of more than 30 tasks that, according to your feedback and our stats, seemed rather complicated.

Over the past few months, we’ve been carefully analyzing your progress on updated Personal Missions by reviewing your questions and suggestions. And now we're ready to take the next step and make some new adjustments.

Meeting Your Wishes  

Simplifying the tasks of the operation Excalibur provided us with a lot of valuable data. Your feedback and obtained statistics confirmed that our decision to simplify task conditions:

  • paved the way for the second operation and its incredible reward tank, the Chimera, for more players
  • turned your focus back to Personal Missions, which is really great  

The information gathered got us thinking that we also should meet your wishes regarding the tasks of the Chimera operation. In all fairness, some tasks really seem to be a bit complicated and keep you busy. Therefore, we decided to simplify and slightly adjust about 30 missions that you were struggling with.

Simplified Yet Still Challenging!

In Update 1.4 missions for the Second Front will become more balanced, achievable and generally simpler. At the same time, their fulfillment will still require a certain skill level. Just check their conditions out and see for yourself in the table below.

And now the icing on the cake!

Along with the simplification of some missions, in Update 1.4 we’re improving two reward tanks, the British Chimera Tier VIII medium and the Soviet Object 279 early Tier X heavy. Thanks to slight changes in their characteristics, both vehicles will be more competitive in battles, even against rivals of higher tiers. Let’s dig into the details.  

The Chimera

Most importantly, we’ve increased the vehicle’s penetration with standard shell to 218 mm. Also, we’ve improved its accuracy, aiming time and gun stabilization to make the Chimera a more sharpshooting tank. All these tweaks will provide more comfortable and accurate firing.   

Plus, we’ve improved its shell velocity, which makes the Chimera more suitable for effective long-distance sniping. Finally, the tank’s view range was also improved to make it more convenient to play.

The Object 279 early

We found in your feedback that this Soviet heavy didn’t meet your expectations, and the reward wasn't worth the effort. So, with the Update 1.4 the Object 279 early will get improved aiming time and higher accuracy. In addition, its dispersion during turret rotation will be reduced. Finally, we’ve improved the lower plate which significantly decreases the chances to penetrate it.  

Why Are We Improving These Characteristics?

According to your suggestions and our stats, both vehicles clearly lacked more accurate and effective guns. Now, with these tweaks, the Chimera and the Object 279 early have a better chance to inflict more serious damage. Besides, the additional armor strengthening for the Object 279 early will make it even more redoubtable adversary on the battlefield.

Improved gun characteristics will emphasize the vehicle’s main feature, which is high damage per shot. Overall improvement to firing performance, as well as increased View Range will allow this tank to perform the role of a maneuverable and rapid support vehicle suitable for mid-range encounters.

Specific changes to the technical characteristics of the Object 279 (e) will improve the vehicle’s combat performance and strengthen the lower armor plate that was quite vulnerable in some combat situations.
