Commanders!
Turn the crank and see what surprise pops out! But beware, this box doesn’t contain a clown. No, there is something even more menacing inside: the VIII GSOR 1008 , a brand-new British tank destroyer. Let’s see why this newcomer is nothing to joke about.
How to Play
The first thing to keep in mind is that the magazine of the VIII GSOR 1008 takes about 43 seconds to reload (with a 100% trained crew), which makes it extremely vulnerable for an extended period of time. So, always think of ways to retreat to a safe position and stick with your allies.
Your 11 degrees of gun depression is excellent and allow you to hide behind ridges and hills without exposing too much of yourself. Stick to advantageous positions and plan your route across the battlefield.
The GSOR 1008 is a mean damage-dealing machine that likes to hunt in a pack. Call a trusted ally to your side and catch unsuspecting enemies while they are reloading. Not every tank can unload 4 shells in 6 seconds, so don't be afraid to finish off opponents and hunt for easy prey that rolls around on its last track.
Armor
Size doesn’t matter. And the GSOR 1008 proves it. While this British tank destroyer is definitely at the lower end of the size scale, it is by no means squishy or weak. The turret is protected by 152 mm of hardened steel, which might not sound like much, but thanks to 11 degrees of gun depression, all you really have to show is a small strip of your front when you peek over a ridge.
Nevertheless, running and hiding is usually a better survival strategy. A top speed of 60 km/h allows quick maneuvering, while the low profile and good camouflage value make hiding behind bushes a reliable tactic.
Firepower
Just lay your trap and wait for a victim. They won't see it coming until 4 hefty punches send them back to their Garage. The 105 mm AT Gun L7A1 is a quick and powerful autoloader with 2 seconds intra-clip loading time, 2.3 seconds aim time, and fairly accurate 0.34 m dispersion. The GSOR 1008 might be small, but it sure is deadly, especially with a well-trained crew and the right equipment.
Equipment
Recommended Setup |
||
---|---|---|
The choice of equipment for the GSOR 1008 is determined by your playstyle. If you prefer to take on the role of an active hunter, make sure to equip "Improved Ventilation", "Improved Rotation Mechanism", and "Coated Optics". All of your stats will see a nice boost, and you will be able to effectively support your allies in medium tanks.
Recommended Setup |
||
---|---|---|
However, if you prefer a low and slow playstyle with sneaky ambushes and quick attacks, we recommend adding "Improved Ventilation", "Binocular Telescope", and a "Camouflage Net". You will blend in with the environment even more and will see opponents coming from over 400 meters away. The perfect passive scout with a proper bite.
Crew Skills

No matter which role you prefer, the choice of crew skills should minimize your chance of getting spotted and maximize your chance of survival. Therefore, "Concealment" should be early on your list, followed by "Brothers in Arms" and rounded off with "Repair". Once your crew is all set and familiar with the tank, start fine-tuning their skills with "Situational Awareness", "Snap Shot", and "Smooth Ride".
