Tournament Structure:

The World of Tanks European championship consists of 4 stages:

  1. National Qualifier
  2. European Championship Online Group Stage
  3. European Championship Online Finals
  4. European Championship Offline Finals at Gamescom
National Qualifiers:

National Qualifiers:

The national qualifiers serve to identify a country’s champion team and its representatives for the rest of the championship. There will be one national qualifier for each of the following countries:

Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom.

The players must be citizens of the country they represent. By entering the competition, the players consent to collection and further processing of their name, surname and their country of nationality by Wargaming, as may be needed for the purpose of verifying the qualifiers in which they are supposed to play.

At the end of the national qualifiers, IP checks will be conducted to ensure that this rule is respected. In case the IP does not match the selected qualifier, the players will be asked (via forum, in-game messaging, or via their registered email) to provide proof of citizenship, and will have 24 hours to provide this. Failing to provide proof of citizenship may result in disqualification.

  • In case a team is disqualified, the second team will take its place. If additional games are required to determine a winner, the teams will be contacted accordingly. The details (date and time) will also be available on the page of the relevant qualifier.

National qualifiers structure:

  1. Group Stage - Teams will be divided into groups of four. The top two teams advance to the next stage.
  2. Group stage point distribution: 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for defeat.
  3. If two teams have an equal amount of points, their ranking will be based on their head to head ratio.
  4. Playoffs - Teams will play a single-elimination tournament until a winner emerges as the country’s representative.
  5. In case of draws in the single elimination tournament, both teams will be removed from further competition.
  6. The battles are played in the Encounter mode for the group stage and first rounds of playoff. For quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, we'll use Attack/Defense mode.
  7. Battles will be one match for Encounter and best of three for Attack/Defense mode.
  8. Team sides on the maps are decided randomly by the system.
  9. In case of a large amount of sign ups there may be a possibility of having some rounds of qualifier being played the following day.

Note: the team that wins the national qualifiers of Germany automatically advances to Gamescom to play as the host nation.

Team/Player Rules & Info for Captains:

Team/Player Rules & Info for Captains:

All team captains must stay up to date on the forum. The tournament administration recommends every captain follow the “rules and information” thread of the European Championship tournament, in case of critical changes.

The team captain is responsible for their team: only a team captain can make requests on behalf of their team on the forum.

Captains and players are advised to use the in-game reporting system to report foul language, rather than the official rules enforcement thread.

Players and teams:

  1. Each player can only play for one team in the tournament.
  2. Wargaming.net staff or affiliates are not prohibited from playing, unless they are part of the tournament administration.
  3. The Wargaming.net League Gold Series players are not allowed to participate in the tournament. This includes the players from Season I & II, 2016/2017.
  4. Once the team has been created, its name cannot be changed (please be very careful when naming your team).
  5. Team and player names must not violate the Wargaming.net naming rules. Any team violating these rules will be disqualified. Highly offensive names may be further sanctioned with an in-game suspension.
  6. Teams must keep all names alpha-numeric. Teams are not allowed to use special signs, unprintable words, etc. All names have to be clearly readable.
  7. When a team wins a national qualifier, it becomes the country's champion team. They are thereafter referred to by that country's name for the rest of the competition.

Administration:

  • Administrators resolve disputes.
  • The ruling of an Administrator is final.
  • The organizer reserves the right to modify the rules prior or during the tournament, while notifying the players via official forum or portal publication.
  • In case of dispute, an admin will contact the team captains through the forum’s personal message system.
Reporting and replays:

Reporting and replays:

  1. Replays must be recorded by the teams for all the games, and provided if requested. If replays are required (i.e. to resolve disputes between teams), the details on where to send the files will be provided by the admins.
  2. Replays may be uploaded to the World of Tanks Replays service for easy access.
  3. In case of dispute, the team captains will be contacted on the forum, and will have 24 hours to reply. Failure to reply or provide the replays may result in the cancellation of the victory and the removal of the prizes.
  4. Any action that goes against the spirt of the game, such as battle rigging or other types of abuse of the game mechanics, may lead to disqualification and/or further in-game sanctions.
  5. Complaints of violation of game rules are accepted only through the in-game reporting system.

Even though we highly recommend that you read the rules fully, we'll include this part for everyone who likes to have a brief overview of everything.

This tournament is the only World of Tanks tournament where you can represent your country and win a trip to Gamescom, along with some amazing hardware and gold.

There will be a qualifier for each country. Each country's winning team will then play in the group stage + playoffs in order to win one of three places in the Finals in Germany. As host nation, Germans will have one team automatically qualify.

We're planning on streaming a lot of games, so whether or not you're planning to sign up, you can follow the WoT European Championship.

We'll be active on the forum, so find the European Championship thread and feel free to ask us any questions you may have.
