Commanders,
The Update 2.2 Common Test has begun! Jump in now to try out new crew perks, the enhanced Armor Inspector feature, and an updated Neon Dash event with new maps and obstacles. You can also test the returning Steel Hunter: Shamrock Showdown, updates to WoT Plus, and early versions of the upcoming Battle Pass and the clan-only Maneuvers event.
Crew Rework: New Perks and Improvements
Update 2.2 marks the final step in our long-term crew system rework. Our goal is to make interacting with your crew as clear, flexible, and comfortable as possible while preserving the core mechanics you're already familiar with.
The upcoming update introduces 10 new perks—two new perks for each major qualification. All existing perks remain unchanged, with the exception of a minor adjustment to Reliable Placement. The new perks are considered final, though some numerical values may still be fine-tuned during testing.
In addition to the new perks, we're also introducing several quality-of-life improvements designed to make crew management more convenient and intuitive.
Removing Unneeded Crew Members
A new dedicated button in the Barracks allows you to manually remove unused crew members that are no longer needed. This action is optional, clearly confirmed via a dedicated screen, and irreversible, with no compensation—giving you full control over your crew roster.
Additional Improvements
- Crew Books can now be applied to crews placed in Premium vehicles
- You can now disable notifications for certain perks in the Garage
Join the Common Test to try out the new perks and other crew-related changes right away!
Armor Inspector
With the release of Update 2.2, the Armor Inspector will receive various improvements aimed at making this feature even more useful and convenient. These updates include:
- Improved visualization of effective armor and penetration chances
- The ability to select a vehicle, gun, and shell parameters when testing them against vehicle armor
As a result, the Armor Inspector will become a more complex and interactive tool. It helps you understand who can penetrate your vehicle—and, just as importantly, who you can effectively engage depending on angle, armor layout, and ammunition. This deeper insight lets you better prepare for different opponents and play each vehicle to its full potential.
Neon Dash
The action-packed Neon Dash event will return soon, running across two dedicated weekends, with several improvements and two brand-new maps. In this experimental mode, up to 30 players race through a high-speed obstacle course filled with hazards and surprises. Here's what to expect from the upcoming launch:
New Obstacles
- Lasers. Moving laser beams instantly destroy your vehicle on contact. Avoid them at all costs!
- Jumping Platforms. These platforms launch your vehicle forward and upward. Timing and precision are key.
New Maps
- Two fresh neon-themed tracks packed with twists, turns, and unexpected obstacles
Steel Hunter: Shamrock Showdown Returns!
Steel Hunter will return to World of Tanks with a special Shamrock Showdown edition. Its rules remain familiar:
- Lucky Seals. To earn Seals, collect Spoils of War in battle, complete Progression stages, and take the top positions in battle. You can also earn twice as many Seals once a day for the first battle fought in each event vehicle.
- Loot Transformation. All yellow loot (Supplies) will turn into green loot (Consumables).
- Green 404 Marauder. Hunt down the rare 404 Marauder for a big bounty of Lucky Seals!
More details will be available soon—stay tuned and join the Common Test to experience Steel Hunter battles!
Maneuvers and Battle Pass
The clan-only Maneuvers event is coming back this spring! But you can already join in now and try out fierce 7v7 Encounter Battles in Tier X vehicles. When the event launches, as always, you'll have the chance to climb the Leaderboards and fight for top rewards—including the mighty Tier X vehicles!
We've also added resources for the new Battle Pass Season XIX. Note: All Battle Pass rewards and values in the Common Test are for testing purposes and are subject to change.
WoT Plus: New Subscription Tier
With Update 2.2, we're making the WoT Plus subscription even more valuable by adding a new Tier—Pro with three new benefits. Check them out.
- Pro Boost. A 35% bonus to credit, Combat XP, and Crew XP earnings in any Researchable and Collector's Tier I–X vehicle. It can only be applied to one vehicle at a time, and can be switched to a new vehicle every 12 hours.
- Service Record Screen Customization. Personalize your Service Record screen by changing its background and ribbon color.
- Battle Pass Plus. Earn additional Battle Pass Points and complete Progression Stages faster.
WoT Plus Pro is available to all players participating in the Common Test for 600.
Note: This price is valid only for the Common Test only and and is subject to change after release.
Sound Physics Simulation: New Maps and Additions
We continue to expand the sound physics simulation, making battlefield audio more immersive and informative. This technology adjusts how sounds behave based on map geometry, so gunfire, engines, and movement now sound different depending on your position and the surrounding terrain.
Starting with Update 2.2, the sound physics simulation will be available on a new set of Random Battle maps, including:
|
|
|
|
With this expansion, the sound physics simulation now covers nearly all Random Battle maps available in the game. The final step of this large-scale audio rework—bringing the feature to the remaining few maps—is planned for Update 2.2.1.
Additionally, autocannon fire—including that of Czechoslovakian light tanks and American medium tanks—is now fully supported by the sound physics system. It makes every autocannon-equipped vehicle feel more realistic and easier to track by sound. Jump in and try it out for yourself!
