- New to Testing?
A new branch of American medium tanks will be added in Update 2.1.1: it is researched from the T20 (Tier VII), begins with the Ares 75 (Tier VIII), and ends with the Ares 90 C (Tier XI).
All vehicles in the branch will be available for testing except for the Ares 90 C, which can only be viewed in the Tech Tree with non-final characteristics.
Like the rest of the branch, the Ares 90 C is equipped with an autocannon featuring a heat-management system: the Thermal Overheat Control Autocannon.
The system allows the gun to fire continuously without the need for reload. Each shot generates heat: the higher the gun's temperature, the more some of its parameters change. Continuous firing will cause the gun to overheat, preventing further firing until it cools down.
All vehicles in the branch also feature the reserve track mechanic.
Two new researchable Tier XI vehicles that continue the existing vehicle branches have been added to the Tech Tree with non-final characteristics (they will not be available for testing):
PTZ-78 — Chinese tank destroyer, researched after the WZ-113G FT. It features Sequential Rocket Thrusters that boost acceleration, mobility, and maneuverability for several seconds. The left and right thrusters can operate independently, allowing for faster hull traverse without compromising reverse movement capability.
STK-2 — Japanese heavy tank, researched after the Type 71. It features Active Gun Cooling: its gun heats up when fired, which negatively affects its accuracy. After each shot, it begins cooling down and returning to its base parameters during reload, allowing for more accurate firing.
A new Mission Progress tab has been added to the post-battle results screen. Next to the tab, an animation with mission names is shown, along with a counter of missions completed in the previous battle.
The Mission Progress tab displays detailed information on both completed missions (at the top of the list) and missions for which progress was made in battle. Players can navigate to the corresponding sections for full lists of missions of each type, as well as to the vehicle and module research screens.
The following types of progression are supported:
New or maximum vehicle Elite Level
Battle Pass Stage and Chapter progress
Tank Academy missions
Regular missions
Daily, Weekly, Bonus, Premium, and Epic missions
The Sector 3 Personal Missions campaign
New vehicle or module available

The effects, which include sound transmission, diffraction, and reflections, are designed to help players more accurately locate enemies and allies using audio signals. They may slightly increase system load.
The mode interface has been further updated to match the WoT 2.0 design: among other changes, the Vehicle Playlists have been added.
Resources for the event have been added.
The Outstanding Collector achievement, previously tied to the 2.0 Gift, can now be earned at any time.
How to earn: Players must have every researchable Tier VI–X vehicle that was in the game when Update 2.0 was released in their Garage. New vehicle branches are not required.
Rewards: Unique collector's stripe, badge, and medal.
Players can check their progress toward the rewards in the Service Record by going to the Awards tab and hovering over the Outstanding Collector's medal icon in the Special section.

Commanders,
The Update 2.1.1 Common Test is here! Join it to preview a new Tier VIII–XI U.S. autocannon medium tank branch and two more new Tier XI vehicles, test the rebalanced Tier XI vehicles, additions and improvements to Onslaught, plus more.
The new U.S. medium tank branch consists of four vehicles (the Ares 75 at Tier VIII, the Ares 85 at Tier IX, the Ares 90 at Tier X, and the Ares 90 C at Tier XI). All of them wield thermal overheat control autocannons whose ability to fire constantly is limited by the excess heat they generate. As the burst continues, the gun gradually heats up, with its parameters worsening until it's unable to fire at all, requiring some time to cool off. Also, the Ares line tanks have the reserve track mechanic (also featured on the Yoh tanks).
The PTZ-78 is researched after the
X
WZ-113G FT
. Its Tier XI special ability is Sequential Rocket Thrusters that boost acceleration, mobility, and maneuverability for several seconds. The left and right thrusters can operate independently, allowing for faster hull traverse without compromising reverse movement capability.
The STK-2 is researched after the
X
Type 71
. Its Tier XI special ability is Active Gun Cooling. The tank's gun heats up when fired, which negatively affects its accuracy. The cooling begins when reloading starts, with a fully cooled gun allowing you to take precision shots.
Six Tier XI vehicles have had multiple stats improved:

While each vehicle's adjustments differ, they all serve the same common goal:
As usual, the stat adjustments (fully listed in the patch notes) are based on the data collected and on player feedback.
The Season of the Crimson Dragon will arrive with several modifications and changes. The main highlights include:
X
The new sound physics system introduced in Update 2.1 and based on map geometry has been expanded to select Onslaught maps (Ensk, Cliff, Pilsen, Oyster Bay, Siegfried Line, Himmelsdorf, Murovanka, Safe Haven, Airfield, and Ruinberg). The effects within the system include sound transmission, diffraction, and reflections, helping players locate enemies and allies more accurately using audio signals. This feature may slightly increase system load, but the improvement in clarity and spatial accuracy is well worth it!
The "Outstanding Collector" achievement has been modified. Once tied to the 2.0 Gift, it is now a permanent feature. It can be earned without rush by anyone who has every researchable Tier VI–X vehicle in the game in their Garage. (The vehicles added in Update 2.0 and later are not needed to receive the achievement.) Just as before, "Outstanding Collector" comes with a stripe, a medal, and a badge.
