Leopard 1 is, in many respects, just like any other German vehicle, but unlike so many of its kin, it is remarkably versatile. One of its biggest advantages is definitely the gun – ridiculously accurate, quick-firing, and using APCR as default ammunition (meaning the shell travel time is also much faster than that of AP rounds). Moreover, the vehicle has also an outstanding view range of 410 metres, which together with its superb manoeuvrability and top speed, makes the vehicle quite apt at spotting enemy vehicles and keeping them visible for your team’s fire.
The biggest disadvantage this tank has is its thin armour. Basically anything the Leopard 1 meets in combat can pierce through the plating and cause damage, so using this tank demands a cautious approach. In addition to this, weak armouring will make you experience module damage more often than you would expect.
Playing the Leopard 1 allows you to assume a couple of roles and switch between them freely. First of all, you can use your accurate gun to successfully snipe at enemy vehicles from afar. Also, your view range, mobility and rather nice camouflage values for a medium tank allow you to support the team’s light tanks in spotting the enemy and keeping them lit up for the bigger guns on your side. Last but not least, the aforementioned mobility and rate of fire make you a very valuable flanker – just wait until the enemy engages with your heavies and then sneak up on them from the flank or from behind, land a couple of shells in their soft sides and then disappear before they can say “OMG, report Leopard for cheating!”
Tank Tip: Always remember that your lack of armour can be a major hindrance, especially in Tier X battles. Therefore, you should play cautiously and under no circumstances lead any charge on the enemy. You are strictly a support vehicle, so if you want to make it to the end of battle, you need to adapt your tactics accordingly.
In order to maximise your performance on the battlefield, we suggest installing the following equipment:
In addition, your crew members should learn the following skills and perks:

As always, please consider the setup for both the equipment and crew skills as suggestions. Feel free to experiment on your own and choose what you think works best for you.
