The legend of the VIII Type 59 reaches far and wide, and thanks to this untouchable medium's stellar resilience, it has stood the test of time. For a vehicle that has been on the battlefield for over a decade, its capacity to compete with the best of its tier is highly impressive. That's in no small part due to its excellent 230/130/60 mm turret armor, which, along with its sloped 100 mm frontal armor, is proficient at bouncing shots.

1,300 HP is nothing to shout about, but its impressive mobility compliments the armor to provide outstanding overall survivability. With a top speed of 60 km/h and reverse speed of 20 km/h, it's agile and able to evade fire or comfortably move between cover. The 46 degree/s traverse speed is useful for countering flanks and also provides offensive opportunities.

Armed with a reliable 100 mm gun, the Type 59 deals 1,897 DPM with 250/250/330 damage per shot and 185/241/50 mm of penetration. It won't achieve the most damage in battle, yet its gun handling shines and gives the tank great versatility. The 2 s aim time and 0.35 m dispersion at 100 m allow it to support allies at a distance, and the –7 degrees of gun depression is useful for fighting on uneven terrain.
