The public test server for Version 9.15 is now open.

How the Public Test Works

New to testing? Check out our handy guide to public tests.

Eligibility: Every player who registered their account before 18 April.

Feedback: please post your general feedback about the test version and bug reports in the special thread on our forum:

 

To avoid problems with graphics, performance, as well as with stability of the test client, it is strongly recommended to update the drivers of your video card to the latest version.

Test client download

  1. Download the test client installer (4.9 MB).
  2. Make sure you pick a save location that is different to your regular World of Tanks game files. Save and run the installer.
  3. Run the new copy of the game. The launcher will download all the additional data.
  4. Log in and start playing.

 

Please be aware of the following:

The test server will be restarted regularly, according to the following schedule:

  • First Periphery: 04:00 UTC every day. Average duration will be around 25 minutes.
  • Second Periphery: 05:00 UTC every day. Average duration will be around 25 minutes.
  • Central Database: 09:00 UTC every day. Average duration will be around 2 minutes.

The test server may be subject to unscheduled restarts and maintenance.

Game Improvements:
  1. Fixed the issue where the dynamic view range in Technical Characteristics exceeded the maximum value of 445 m in the tooltips of Equipment such as Coated Optics.
  2. Adjusted the calibration coefficients of the guns that had incorrectly displayed the Firepower characteristic.
  3. Fixed the mechanism of calculation for the Survivability characteristic. Factors such as armour slope angles and the part of individual element's area on the armour projection are now taken into account.
Technical Improvements
  1. Fixed the issue where the invitation to Platoon was still received even with the "Accept invitations to Platoon in battle" disabled.
  2. Fixed the issue where the Battle Results screen only displayed the amount of credits earned without Premium Account.
  3. Fixed the issue where the game remained in windowed mode after minimisation.
  4. Fixed the issue where two mouse cursors were displayed after the player pressed ALT+TAB.
  5. Fixed the issue with pressing ALT+ENTER twice in the Garage caused the clan icon on the vehicle to turn into a striped yellow-red square that read "Problem?".
  6. Fixed the issue where Camouflage tiles were displayed in the Exterior menu (coloured squares with gradient were displayed instead of actual Camouflage).
  7. Fixed the issue where dirt and dust still flew out from under the vehicle even when the appropriate setting was disabled.
  8. Fixed the issue where technical text was displayed in vehicle characteristics.

1. Type 4 Heavy:

  • Crossing capacity on solid terrain for the Type 4 Heavy Kai suspension increased by 15%.
  • Crossing capacity on medium terrain for the Type 4 Heavy Kai suspension increased by 14%.
  • Crossing capacity on soft terrain for the Type 4 Heavy Kai suspension increased by 10%.
  • Maximum forward speed changed from 20 km/h to 25 km/h.
  • Reload time of the 14 cm/50 3rd Year Type gun for the Type 4 Heavy turret changed from 20.8 s to 19.8 s.

2. Type 5 Heavy:

  • Dispersion on the move with the Type 5 Heavy suspension decreased by 25%.
  • Dispersion on hull traverse with the Type 5 Heavy suspension decreased by 17%.
  • Maximum reverse speed changed from 10 km/h to 11 km/h.
  • Reload time of the 14 cm/50 3rd Year Type gun for the Type 5 Heavy turret changed from 17.7 s to 17.1 s.
  • Dispersion on turret traverse of the 14 cm/50 3rd Year Type gun decreased by 14%.
  • Traverse speed of the Type 5 Heavy turret changed from 18 deg/s to 20 deg/s.
  • Durability increased from 2,800 HP to 2,900 HP.

Recommendations:
  1. To fix the unstable behaviour of the NVIDIA driver in SLI mode with DirectX 11, you are recommended to install driver version 365.10.
  2. The improved DX11 renderer will automatically turn on for video cards that support it. If your video card does not support DX11, the DX9 renderer will be used instead. The difference in renderers does not affect the game settings.

Game Features
  1. Updated the display of vehicle characteristics in the Garage:
    • Simplified vehicle characteristics which are now arranged into five expandable groups.
    • Changed the list of main characteristics (added new characteristics to the list).
    • Vehicle characteristics are now dynamically updated to reflect any changes to vehicle crew, equipment, or modules.
    • Added the information to tooltips about the way modules, equipment, and consumables influence the vehicle's characteristics.
  2. Added a preview screen which allows you to preview any vehicles that you have not yet purchased with any modules and parameters in the 3D scene (available via the Research screen in the Tech Tree).
  3. Basic PvE Tutorial:
  • Changed the composition of the team, the teams now have 15 players from each side.
  • Reduced the waiting time in queue, added the ability to launch a battle as a solo player.
  • Added a starting point at the upper base.
  • Implemented alternative bot behavior scenarios on the Mittengard and Mines maps.
4. Changed the base capture bar. Added the information about the number of capturers and the time left until the base is captured.
5. Enabled the "Save addressee in battle" by default for all players, which forces the system to remember the last addressee in Chat until the end of the battle.
6. Added a warning that informs the player that the battle is coming to an end.
7. Improved several aspects of the improved vehicle movement physics:
  • Fixed the issue with the overly high damage caused when sliding downhill.
  • Decreased the probability that your vehicle will overturn when performing a maneuver.
  • Fixed the issue with vehicles getting stuck to other vehicles or objects.
8. Added new filters to the vehicle carousel in the Garage.
9. Added sound events upon activation of Camouflage Net and Binocular Telescope.
10. Added the ability to select the type of the sound system in the Sound tab of Settings, which allows you to further fine-tune the positioning of sound sources in battle.
11. Added a new aiming indicator — full circle.
12. Added two new magnification options in Sniper aim— x16 and x25.
13. The number of shells in the status bar in battle is now larger.
14. Added the promoscreen display button.
15. Replaced the intro video and changed the mechanics of its playback: the video is now played only once and then appears again only after an update (a patch).
16. Added the readings for latency and server state in the login screen and the Garage.
17. Re-designed the conditions of a number of personal missions.
18. Updated rules of Platoon creation:
  1. Players can join a battle in a Platoon that has any set of vehicles (regardless of their tiers).
  2. Players will see a notification in which they are recommended to assemble a Platoon in which all the vehicle are of the same tier (for doing so, the players in the Platoon will receive a bonus to their experience).
  3. If all the vehicles in the Platoon are of the same tier, all members of the Platoon will earn a bonus after battle (the amount of the bonus depends on the tier of vehicles in the Platoon: higher tiers mean a bigger bonus).
  4. If there is a more than three-level difference between the maximum and minimum tiers of the vehicles in the Platoon, the players in such a Platoon will be penalized in experience (the amount of penalty is larger, the higher the difference in tiers).
  • Note: the amounts of both bonuses and penalties are subject to change according to the results of testing.
Technical Changes
  1. Optimized the interfaces of drop-down menus and tooltips.
  2. The internal WoT Awesomium browser now uses Chromium Embedded Framework.
  3. Performed a switch to the CoreEngine 3.0 graphical engine:
    1. Implemented a number of technical solutions that allowed for an increase in performance of up to 30%, including:
      1. Average FPS has significantly increased for the Improved Graphics preset.
      2. Average FPS has slightly increased (up to 15%) for the Standard Graphics preset.
    2. Reworked the system of FX lighting for the Improved Graphics preset. As a result, smoke and explosions now look more natural in the in-game environment.
    3. Added the ability to use the modern DX11 graphics API.
    Because of this, we advise you to download the latest driver software for your graphical card from the manufacturer’s website.

  1. Replaced the German Waffenträger auf E 100 tank destroyer with the Grille 15. Upon replacement, the crew will be trained for the new vehicle. The statistics from the Waffenträger auf E 100 will be saved in Personal Record, while the statistics for the Grille 15 will be tracked individually.

    • Crossing capacity for the T-22 med. suspension decreased by 50%/43%/33%, depending on terrain.
    • Aiming time of the 100 mm D-54TS gun for the T-22 med. turret changed from 1.9 s to 2.4 s.
    • Reload time of the 100 mm D-54TS gun for the T-22 med. turret changed from 7.5 s to 8.1 s.
    • Dispersion on turret traverse of the 100 mm D-54TS gun increased by 50%.

    • Aiming time of the 90 mm Gun M41 for the 59-Patton turret changed from 2.5 s to 2.3 s.
    • Reload time of the 90 mm Gun M41 for the 59-Patton turret changed from 7.6 s to 7.5 s.
    • Dispersion of the 90 mm Gun M41 changed from 0.38 m to 0.36 m.

    • Dispersion on hull traverse with the Kanonenjagdpanzer suspension increased by 20%.

    • Penetration of the DM13A1 shell for the 90 mm Rheinmetall DM1 gun changed from 212 mm to 238 mm.
    • Flight speed of the standard shell increased by 28%.

    • Vehicle's Tier changed from VI to V.
