M4A1 Revalorisé: The Alpha Dog

Born in France, descended from the U.S., fought in the Middle East. These facts describe the M4A1 Revalorisé, the new Tier VIII Premium medium tank. The vehicle was developed under the program for modernising the M4 Sherman tanks at the disposal of the French army. The result of the program was the "SuperSherman" – a vehicle that remained more than relevant until the beginning of the 1990s.

Distinctive Features

  • Damage Per Shot: The French Sherman can cause significant damage to all enemies within fighting distance, with 390 points of damage per shot to back up this assertion. Out of the Tier VIII medium tanks, only the Chinese T-34-2 and T-34-3 cause more damage per shot. In fact, this vehicle is comparable to any Tier VIII heavy tank and most Tier IX vehicles.
  • Penetration: The importance of damage per shot would be much lower, if it were not for a penetration rate of 200 mm for standard shells and 250 mm for Premium shells, which is almost the highest rate among Tier VIII medium tanks. Basically, the "SuperSherman" is able to pierce through vehicles of the same Tier and harass vehicles of higher Tiers.
  • Damage Per Minute: The tank has a standard damage per minute rate for a Tier VIII medium tank (around 1,830 to be specific), but the Gun Rammer will increase it up to 2,000 and the Improved Ventilation will raise the DPM even higher.
  • View Range: The M4A1 Revalorisé has a view range of 390 metres, which gives you a chance to spot enemies before they spot you and strike a preventive blow.
  • Armour: 63mm of turret armour and 50mm of hull armour are unlikely to provide a solid defence from enemy fire. To protect the vehicle, put your trust in good fortune and the ability to escape fire. The absence of thick armour is in a way balanced out by the tank sporting 1,400 HP.

Tactical Hints

The main role of the M4A1 Revalorisé is supporting allies with fire, or being a "damage dealer". The French tank is perfect for causing considerable damage to enemies at long and medium range.

Try to minimise face-to-face confrontations with opponents by utilising your excellent view range and gun characteristics. The "SuperSherman" has no problems with hitting most Tier IX or lower vehicles. The only exception is vehicles with heavy armour, like the ST-1 or T95, which can only be penetrated with APCR shells.

Use terrain or cover to hide the high profile of this vehicle - if worst comes to worst, hide behind your better armoured allies. You should not be ashamed of that, as the HP that you will manage to save and the prolonged life of your vehicle will become an important contribution to the victory of your team.

Mobile battles at short distances should be considered a last resort - taken only if there is no way out. The Revalorisé must survive as long as possible.

The M4A1 Revalorisé is an experienced and rough fighter, with a fine combat record and original gameplay. Welcome it to the World of Tanks battlefields!
