The Fight of the Bulldogs

Commander!

With the New Lunar Year came a new vehicle in World of Tanks: the M41D. And this Taiwanese version of the iconic Bulldog tank provides a new deal for the Tier VIII light tanks! How so? You'll know everything after this Mexican standoff between a Chinese, a German (leKpz M 41 90 mm), and an American M41 Walker Bulldog!

All values below correspond to a 100% trained crew.

Armament

In this category, the Premium variants have the upper hand. With its 90 mm gun, the leKpz delivers some frightening and sneaky shots, plus the devastating HE shells. But if you're looking for consistency, the new M41D has the highest DPM. And when it comes to precision, the Chinese looks the best as well. The other ones are not far behind, though.

Mobility

Like many Chinese tanks, the M41D traded its mobility for its plus in firepower. This time, the award goes to the American Bulldog, capable of moving quite quickly. The leKpz may be the fastest of this trio, but overall, the M41 Walker Bulldog leaves them biting the dust. Its forward speed is impressive and complemented by good traverse speeds, as well as a stronger power-to-weight ratio.

Survivability / Visibility

Only a few Health Points distinguish the Bulldogs from each other. If you take a closer look at their armour, you will realise they are the exact same (surprise!). So it comes down to visibility and camouflage. And in these categories, they are obviously very similar.

Because each of these Bulldogs is a light tank, the camouflage value on the move is the same as the one for standing still.

So here you go for this fight of the Bulldogs, Commander. To sum it up:

  • M41D: With the main focus on firepower and reliability, this tank will perform just fine on the battlefield. It needs to be played more as a supporter than a scout, as you can see with the lower view range and mobility.
  • leKpz M 41 90 mm: The highest damage per shot, paired with a very good rate of fire, makes the German Bulldog's gameplay is similar to the Chinese. Its superior view range also allows for proper scouting.
  • M41 Walker Bulldog: Even though the other two feature higher firepower, the American is by no means bad – its gun is still effective. On top you have the best mobility and view range, making it the best choice for scouting if needed.
