Commanders!
Today we want to show you how to master the new German tank destroyer, the Kanonenjagdpanzer! (say Ka-no-nen-yagd-pan-zer). Experienced players will see immediately that this tank destroyer is based on the Ru 251 hull. It has often been considered as a larger E 25 in terms of gameplay, but this is only partially true. Let’s find out why this tank destroyer is so unique.

There are multiple ways that the tank can be used and it mostly depends on the type of map you fight on.
Let’s start with open maps like Malinovka and Prokhorovka, which are ideal for this tank destroyer. There you can fulfill two different roles. The first would be the typical tank destroyer. Look for a position where you can shoot plenty of tanks from a safe distance, as you cannot afford to be spotted. The fast-firing and precise gun will be a nuisance to any enemy that is not in cover. Also, your gun-depression allows you to use flatter hills as cover – not to bounce shells (which is pretty much impossible) but to make it as hard as possible for the enemy to hit you. Bushes and the tank's stealth values should be used to your advantage.
The second role would be the passive scout, simply because the Kanonenjagdpanzer is relatively stealthy and your binocular telescope will help you spot enemies for your team. If things don’t go as planned, you can still use the high speed and relocate to a better position – this tank is not just about damage caused by you, but spotting and assist damage as well, especially when you are at the bottom of the list.
On mixed or city maps we recommend you follow medium tanks and support them while they engage in a fight. Again, with the fast-firing gun you are able to shoot twice before the enemy has reloaded and with your high amount of HP (compared to tank destroyers of the same Tier) you can take a few hits before the Kanonenjagdpanzer gets destroyed. The enemy will have a hard time flanking you as your hull turns quite quickly - just make sure you aren't on soft terrain.
Thanks to the high AP penetration you usually won’t need any HEAT shells, apart from a few emergency ones. However, the HEAT shells fly much faster than the AP grenades, so consider them if you need to lead-aim. We also want to point out that your high-penetration HE shells are very effective against most thinly-armoured and light tanks, so make sure you carry at least five of those with you.
Conclusion: Even though the Kanonenjagdpanzer is not easy to master, it is still a very great vehicle to drive. In fact, compared to the E 25, it is way harder to play, not just because of the bigger size or higher Tier, but because it relies on your team mates and requires map awareness. However, if you are skilled enough, you will earn lots of credits in no time. We recommend you join a platoon of medium or light tanks to make your life easier. Also, after each battle you can be sure that every single credit was gained through proper and hard work. This tank feels really German.
If you like zipping around the battlefield and annoying enemy tanks with a constant barrage of shots, you will definitely love the Kanonenjagdpanzer.
Quick tank, quick damage, quick credits – go get it quickly!
