Firstlook 2012 Recap

Firstlook 2012 took place over the weekend, and we came out in full force to represent Wargaming at this exciting event. As did many of you!  In fact, the convention was so successful that tickets had sold out for both days before the trade show had even started!

As you can imagine, the place was packed and loads of players descended upon the multitude of stands to discover the latest video games and industry trends. So, it was a good thing that we came prepared, with the biggest booth on location to promote our two featured titles – World of Tanks and World of Warplanes.

You could see our stand literally “stand out” from a mile away, and so it’s only natural that it drew an immense crowd - especially with our friendly hostesses all over the place, directing players towards our setup.  Once you had made it past the queue lines, there were two rows of high-end PC’s waiting, where you could make your choice to either roll out with a powerful tank or get airborne with your favourite airplane.

As a reward for your “trouble” we gave away free goodie bags to all our players who had taken the time to play the game, handing out prizes such as t-shirts, bonus codes for World of Tanks or Beta access for World of Warplanes.

For all of those who didn’t get to play the game themselves, we had a treat as well. Our Community team members Alexis and Laura stepped up onto the stage on numerous occasions throughout the weekend to entertain the crowd with stage demos of our games, highlighting all of the important new features.

To top it all off, we also organised a special private party on Saturday to thank all of our guests, visitors and partners for their amazing support. Drinks were on the house and our party guests got to go home with fond memories of an exciting dancing show that we’re sure nobody will quickly forget.

Overall, we can say that our first visit to Firstlook was a big success that exceeded even our expectations. We want to thank everybody for coming out to our booth and are already looking forward to next year so that we can give Firstlook a second look!
