Fair Play Update Regarding Mods

Commanders,

Update 2.0 brought many innovations to World of Tanks to make our favorite game even more engaging and enjoyable. Some of the new features (in particular, Armor Flashlight) required us to expand our Fair Play Policy. Following the Fair Play Policy and understanding the consequences of violating it is essential for keeping the game honest for all and having the best experience yourself.

Fair Play Policy Changes

World of Tanks is open to modifications and customizations; yet, we do not approve of cheat-facilitating software that can manipulate gameplay and give unfair advantages. Using prohibited mods may lead to a temporary ban (penalization) of your account, and repeated use may result in a permanent ban.

We want to inform you that the list of prohibited mods has been expanded, and the changes to our Fair Play Policy come into effect with the publication of this article. Mods that alter the functionality of Armor Flashlight in any way (e.g., making it work outside of the sniper mode or from any distance) are strictly prohibited. The feature was designed to make the game more informative and friendly to less experienced players, and must not be exploited to give anyone an unfair edge.

The best way to avoid unnecessary action against your account is by using mods from the official World of Tanks Mod Hub, where all mods are verified and safe to use.

Cheater Bans

Some players choose to break the rules and use prohibited software, spoiling the experience for the others. This necessitated our recent ban wave with:

  • 2,770 cheaters penalized across the EU servers
  • 497 cheaters banned across the EU servers

Penalization means a first-time warning and a temporary ban. All other bans are permanent. We leave no room for error—our team carefully checks every suspicious situation. If a player is penalized/banned, it is because we have 100% verified proof.

Rigger Bans

Rigged battles are ones where players break the rules by creating unfair conditions to gain in-game advantages—such as farming easy damage, boosting stats, or earning rare awards.
This kind of behavior breaks the rules and ruins the experience for players who want to play fair and follow the rules. Rigging leads to permanent bans with no prior warning from our side, such as the recent ban wave:

  • 280 riggers banned across the EU servers

Fair play is important in all modes, and we also made sure to include battles contributing to the new personal missions campaign — Sector 3. We are enthusiastically watching tankers who, through their dedication and skills, move toward recognition. However, we have identified attempts to complete the campaign dishonestly, and those violators have been permanently banned. We strongly recommend refraining from any attempts to obtain rewards through prohibited means, as violators will be detected and blocked.

Let's continue to maintain a fair environment and enjoy the game responsibly.

Roll Out!
