Operation Typhoon Announcement

The World of Tanks team is pleased to announce the start of a new event - Operation Typhoon. Clans will meet to prove their dominance and test their skills in the field of battle, in this exciting new challenge.

Until the mid-20th century, in Southeast Asia, there were almost no territories considered independent states. For a long time, the region was considered a colony of stronger geopolitical powers, but drastic changes in the world political arena marked the beginning of a solution. Tumultuous events in other regions of the globe gave hope that a path to independence was real and achievable. The struggle began - the freedom and self-determination of future countries and peoples were at stake. The asian Typhoon began to gain momentum - the elements came together in battle, bared their swords and engaged the entire nation in the vortex of confrontation. However, powerful forces with some formidable military assets stood in the way of the new independent states trying to find their way in the global arena. Nevertheless, the national liberation movement grew each year and the reckless use of total war, to maintain domination over the colonies, grew more and more dangerous. It was the determination and perseverance of those freedom fighters that forced the parties to the negotiating table. Yet these events changed the entire region and predetermined the future of millions of people for years to come.

Main Details

Operation Typhoon will take place from 19 April at 10:00 to 3 May at 10:00 CEST (UTC+2) and will be played using Tier VIII vehicles.

The event will be held according to the following system:

• During the first stage, clans will be competing for provinces. According to the scenario, Fame Points will be awarded for either defending your own provinces or for capturing new territories.
• The Global Map will feature new regions, which weren’t available before. Battles will start within South Asia and Southeast Asia.
• To provide as many clans as possible with an opportunity to earn gold, all province income within the Operation Typhoon Front will be set at 600

Awards and Achievements

Like in previous campaigns and events, clans will earn Clan Fame Points, while individual players will be awarded Personal Fame Points. 

Personal Standings

The main prize for the event will be 8,000 Premium Tier VIII Chieftain\T95 vehicles. 

Following the results of previous events, the award vehicle system has been reconsidered. Now vehicles will be awarded based on personal standings, where players are rated according to the number of Personal Fame Points earned. The top 8,000 players will receive a unique vehicle.

Clan Rating

In Operation Typhoon, a new clan awards system will be introduced – more than 25,000,000 units of Industrial Resources will be allocated among the top clans, based on their rank at the end of the event. For more details, stay tuned for the Operation Typhoon Rules and Regulations.

Medals

In addition to the main prizes, players will also have a chance to earn unique medals.
