One of the oldest vehicles in the game, the M6A2E1, is a strong American Tier VIII heavy tank. It's nicknamed "Mutant" by the community because of its odd shape, especially the turret. What else does it have to offer?

The M6A2E1 benefits from Preferential Matchmaking, which means it will not see any Tier X vehicles. When playing in a platoon however, pay attention to the vehicles your comrades choose. If one of them uses a vehicle without Preferential Matchmaking, you can end up in battles with Tier X opponents.

Gameplay

The biggest advantage of this American tank is its frontal armour, both at the hull and turret. Additionally, it has a 'fake weak spot' – for most vehicles, the lower frontal plate is weaker than the upper one, but here the opposite is the case. Always show your front to the enemy. There is only one weak spot frontally, the cupola on top of the turret. However, thanks to its size, it's difficult to hit, and when going hull-down, it's near impossible.

The side armour is paper though, and even side-scraping is hard to pull off. So if you want to angle your front, don't overdo it, else you'll reveal your weak sides.

As expected from its size, its mobility isn't that great. The acceleration is fair but the top speed leaves much to be desired. Once you're at the front, you'll be pretty much stuck there, so choose wisely where you want to go.

The M6A2E1 is equipped with a 105 mm gun. It features good penetration and fair damage per shot. While the aiming time is quite good, the accuracy isn't, further underlining its role as a front-line brawler. The biggest downside is the reload time. For the damage it deals, it's quite high, so you're bound to trade shots with other tanks under the premise they'll bounce off your front.
