As the name implies, the IS-2M is a modified version of the Soviet IS, similar to the Chinese IS-2 and the Berlin version. Usual for this nation, it comes with good armour, decent mobility, and big firepower.
Gameplay
The IS-2M might not be the toughest vehicle, but the frontal armour thickness and slopes will lead to some bounced shots here and there. The turret is fairly resilient too, but pay attention to the cupola on top of it – it's a weak spot. Nonetheless, if you're the top vehicle in the battle, you can lead the charge with this tank as the enemy will need a couple of shots to bring you down.
Other characteristics help to conclude that playing as a frontline brawler is the safest bet for you. Basically, because of the low view range, you must avoid open fields and choose positions where you'll be able to see your opponents. The mobility is fair and allows you to get to the front fast enough.
The 122 mm gun is what makes the IS-2M a real beast. A very high damage per shot will make sure you make short work of most opponents you face. But of course, having such a brutal gun means there needs to be a drawback, right? Both the accuracy and aiming time suffer greatly, it will be extremely difficult to hit anything at a distance. That further amplifies the fact that this tank is made for close combat, so stick to this tactic for the best results.

Because you'll be fighting at the front most of the time, having Repair trained to your crew is absolutely crucial. Having your tracks blown off in the middle of a fight can leave you defenceless, so you need to make sure they are repaired as quickly as possible for a higher chance of survival.
