Once you've reached this vehicle, you'll finally get what the French are most famous for – their autoloaders. And the AMX AC mle. 48 starts with a pretty strong one as well, making it effective against any vehicle it faces, even Tier X tanks. Time to check out this bad boy!
Gameplay
This French tank destroyer has quite an interesting armour layout. From its looks alone, you can pretty much guess what it is like: strong, angled frontal armour, and flat, weak sides. With that in mind, you definitely want to show your front to your opponent if you're spotted. Yes, it also has the range finder and a cupola on top. Both are weak spots, so you're best advised to make it difficult for the enemy to hit them.
You can do so by using your decent camouflage value, enhanced with the proper crew skills. It also boasts good mobility to get to your positions quickly or out of tricky situations, should you need to reload your magazine. The turning speed is good too, circling you won't be an easy task for most tanks. As for the view range, it's decent but should be improved through the equipment below.
Its gun, the 120 mm AC SA46, makes this tank a special case. If you want to use its burst potential, sniping can only work if you're willing to wait for your aim – and having an autoloader can make you greedy and impatient. You can use it quickest in close range but then the enemy can shoot your weak spots more easily. The comparably low HP makes the AMX AC mle. 48 a poor choice for assaults, only go head-on if you are sure you will destroy your target.

Because of the lacking accuracy and aiming speed, we're concentrating on fixing those first as much as we can, hence the Improved Ventilation and the Enhanced Gun Laying Drive. With the Binocular Telescope, you can spot enemy vehicles by yourself more easily, increasing your chances of catching them off-guard.

With this set of skills, we're focusing mainly on the sniping role. As you can see, the Concealment skill will make it more difficult for the enemy to find you – if you're not shooting. If you do, make sure to do so when the enemy is overexposing themselves. This will give you a better chance of making all three shots count. The next skills improve different aspects of the vehicle, while Brothers in Arms gives a useful bonus to many characteristics.
Adrenaline Rush
Decreases the gun reload time by 10% if your vehicle's HP drops below 10%.
