After the small and swift T20, the M26 Pershing is a rather big change, since their share only a few similarities – the 90 mm gun and superb gun depression. Now, the focus is on the turret armour, just like the American heavy tanks. If you know how to use terrain to your advantage, this vehicle will serve you well!
Gameplay
The armour layout of this American is pretty simple. The frontal turret armour is very hard to penetrate, everything else is quite the opposite. So, to avoid taking damage, hide your hull behind cover and only show your turret front. However, it's not entirely invincible, and it counts on the rounded gun mantlet to deflect incoming shots. Move your vehicle slightly forwards and backwards to reduce the chance of opponents hitting your least angled spots (and your cupola on top).
Another great advantage is the high view range. Peek over small ridges to spot enemy tanks easily; some assisted damage is always nice to have. Regarding mobility, it's rather average. You'll get to the spots you want in a reasonable time, but there are plenty of faster vehicles out there.
The M26 Pershing's 90 mm gun can be summed up in just one word: average. This includes the accuracy, rate of fire, damage per shot, aiming time, etc. There are neither big strong points, nor drawbacks – it's pretty balanced out. In conclusion, this American's play style is very simple: Peek out, show only your turret front, light up the enemy vehicles, take a shot or two, go back to cover, rinse and repeat. The better you are at doing this, the higher your chances of success will be.

We recommend using both the Tank Gun Rammer and the Vertical Stabilizer to increase both your potential damage per minute and the reliability of your gun. Now, there are two pieces of equipment you can choose from:
- Improved Ventilation: If you enjoy a small boost to many combat parameters of your tank.
- Coated Optics: Spot enemy tanks even earlier and see your assisted damage go even higher.
