In the games industry, rumours fly around all the time, however we have an announcement that may quash some of this hearsay (and to some of you, it might be coming straight out of left field!)... Wargaming is joining the Space Race! We are proud to announce the launch of our own space program, which will continue to grow over the next quarter of a century!
By 2041, Wargaming aims to be the first developer to establish a base on the Moon if everything goes according to plan. But before then, we aim to have a myriad of tanks situated on the Moon. These tanks will be controlled remotely so there will be no harsh training courses for those that are interested and even better, our World of Tanks players will be first people invited to take part in testing.
To test out this idea, Wargaming has already placed a handful of specially designed tanks on the Moon as prototypes. You might notice from the concepts below that they aren't ordinary tanks! These tanks, spherical in shape, are designed from the ground up for tactical lunar fighting! The Lunar research and development team at Wargaming will compile all the data and feedback given by you after testing and discuss it with executives and directors.
We hear you cry, how do I get in on this? Well it's simple: All you need to do is log into the game, select the special tank and click the Battle! button. Battling in the IS 8-Ball will grant you access to some special missions:
