How to Play the AMX ELC bis
FIREPOWER | SURVIVABILITY | MOBILITY | EQUIPMENT | CREW
In 1957, when the French airborne troops required a new vehicle that could be transported by air, the development of the V AMX ELC bis began. It was a departure from the previous French approach to light tanks, which traded thick armor for a low profile and a powerful 90 mm gun. Variants with different cannons were also planned, but only one prototype was ever built, and the tank never went into production.
Firepower
The AMX ELC bis can be upgraded with either a fast 75 mm gun or a powerful 90 mm cannon. You might want to try both in a few battles to see which one suits your personal playstyle better, as both have their advantages and disadvantages.
The 75 mm variant has a faster aiming time, a significantly higher DPM with a much faster reload speed, and allows the turret to fully rotate 360 degrees. In comparison to the 90 mm caliber, you'll miss out on more than double the alpha damage (110 vs. 240), higher penetration, faster shell velocity, and somewhat better accuracy. However, due to a design flaw, adding the better punch will restrict turret movement, leaving you with only 30 degrees of horizontal rotation range.
Survivability
The best way to stay in a match the longest is to not get hit by the enemy team. While this is true for every tank, it is a vital doctrine for the AMX ELC bis. You don’t have any HP to spare, so try to avoid getting caught in the open at all costs. Luckily, playing keep-away with your opponents is pretty easy, thanks to outstanding camouflage values, a flat silhouette that's hard to hit, and a decent view range that allows you to see enemies before they spot you. Teamwork is another key to success, so try to help out where you can, distract opponents with quick shots from cover, and use the terrain to your advantage to scout. It is better to passively keep an eye out and report back than to actively engage with faster medium or light tanks.
Mobility
The AMX ELC bis is a light tank but not a particularly fast and agile one. Top speed and acceleration are sufficient to get you around the battlefield, but you're not built to chase other light tanks, and the reduced turret movement with the powerful gun makes it difficult to circle slow heavy tanks. It is best to advance with caution and stay out of sight as long as possible for surprise assaults.

Alternative Setup | ||
The choice of equipment should match your preferred playstyle. All of the recommended pieces work well together and mitigate some of the tank’s weaknesses. The recommended setup is best suited to passive scouting and dealing damage reliably. The alternative setup turns your light tank into a fast and stealthy tank destroyer.
How to Play the M24 Chaffee
FIREPOWER | SURVIVABILITY | MOBILITY | EQUIPMENT | CREW
The V M24 Chaffee was developed in 1943 by the American Ordnance Corps and the Cadillac division of General Motors to replace the M3 Stuart. Every effort was made to create a fast and agile yet powerful new light tank for the battlefields of the Second World War. The armor was kept intentionally light, and they even developed a new lightweight 75 mm gun as armament.
Production began in 1944 under the designation Light Tank M24, and by August 1945, more than 4,500 vehicles had left the assembly lines. Some of them were supplied to the British forces, where it received the addition “Chaffee”, after the United States Army General Adna R. Chaffee, Jr.
Firepower
The stock 75 mm gun M6 armament of the M24 Chaffee can be upgraded with a slightly less accurate but overall faster M17 version. This pushes the DPM to a solid 1,500 and reduces the aiming time to the best of its tier and class. Paired with 10 degrees of gun depression, the M24 is perfect for active scouting over ridgelines as well as flanking maneuvers. Its quick rate of fire means that you usually come out on top when engaging with enemy light tanks.
Survivability
The M24's armor was intentionally kept thin during development to reduce weight, which affects its longevity in a match. While it is possible to bounce a lucky shot off the gun mantlet, you're better off avoiding getting hit. Generally, there are two different approaches to achieve this: hiding or running. Considering that the camouflage values of the M24 Chaffee are on the lower side, it is best to protect yourself by staying on the move.
Mobility
Mobility and maneuverability are some of the greatest assets of the M24 Chaffee. A top speed of 62 km/h and a good power-to-weight ratio should be enough to get you out of any pickle you might find yourself in. Sneak along little-used side routes and quickly traverse the battlefield while keeping an eye on the mini-map for isolated opponents, enemy scouts, and stray tank destroyers. The good view and radio range allow you to uncover enemy movements and report them back to your team.
Equipment

---|---|---|
The recommended equipment is intended to mitigate the subpar accuracy and boost the reload time of the 75 mm gun, which should give you an edge over enemy scouts. Adding Improved Ventilation is also a valid option for an extra overall boost.
