Vehicle Overview

After grinding through several heavily armoured, but slow vehicles, the FV215b (183) definitely feels very different from any of the previous British tank destroyers. It now features a turret and an extremely powerful 183 mm gun, but not as much armour as before. The mobility has improved slightly, yet this Brit is still one of the slower vehicles in its tier.

Based on the FV215b's hull, the armour is more prone to damage. However, with its new rear-mounted turret you can now use side-scraping to your advantage. The turret is almost impenetrable frontally, but hull-down doesn't work well because the gun depression angle isn't good enough in relation to the height of this tank. The sides and rear are weak and easy to hit because of their size, so make sure that those aren't exposed to your opponents.

Now, for the aspect that makes the FV215b (183) such a terrifying enemy on the battlefield: its 183 mm gun! With potentially the highest damage output per shot, this is why it's called 'Death Star' by many players. Of course, there are drawbacks to balance out the overkill damage potential – the gun's reliability, for example. In terms of accuracy and aiming time, the FV215b (183) is very weak – to counter this, you will need to engage in close combat. Also, always have someone cover you while you reload.

The usual loadout is half AP, half HESH ammunition, but of course, it's your own choice as to which loadout you prefer. The AP ammo has a very high penetration value, which makes it easy to penetrate pretty much any vehicle in the game. HESH has absolutely devastating damage that can cripple or destroy many vehicles with just one shot, and even if it doesn't penetrate, it still deals high splash damage.

In order to maximise your performance on the battlefield, we suggest installing the following equipment:

In addition, your crew members should learn the following skills and perks:

Commander
Gunner
Driver
1st Loader
2nd loader

As always, please consider the setup for both the equipment and crew skills as suggestions. Feel free to experiment on your own and choose what you think works best for you.
