Third Campaign: Third Stage Announced

The fires of the Hell of Verdun are dying out. The time has come for you to brace yourselves for the final stage of the Third Campaign – the Fall of the Empires!

Third Stage Rules: Fall of the Empires

1. General Rules of the Third Campaign Third Stage

1.1. The third stage of the Campaign on the Global Map will be called Fall of the Empires and will last from 9 December at 11:00 until 17 December 2014 at 10:00 CET (UTC +1).

1.2. In this stage vehicles up to and including Tier X can take part.

1.3. Ransacks and Revolts will be enabled.

1.4. Starting from 9 December at 11:00, World Redivision mode will be active:

  • All provinces will be available for landing.
  • Espionage and Counter-Espionage will be enabled.
  • Revolts will be disabled.
  • The maximum number of Clans applying for landing will be 32.
  • If during a landing tournament the battle with the Province owner ends in a draw, then the Province is awarded to the challenging Clan.

1.5. The Map will not be wiped after the Second Stage, so Clans will keep their provinces.

1.6. World Redivision mode ends on 10 December at 11:00 CET (UTC +1). After that, the Fall of the Empires rules will come into force:

  • Revolts will be enabled.
  • Revolt probability will be significantly increased.
  • The maximum number of clans applying for landing will be 64.

1.7. The last turn of the Third Campaign will be on 17 December at 10:00 CET (UTC +1).

1.8. During the Third Campaign, a Clan may change map or leave the Campaign Map altogether. In such a case, the Clan will lose all their provinces on the map they are leaving, but Fame Points will remain unaffected.

1.9. After leaving a map, all the Chips of the Clan as well as its Headquarters will be removed from that map and placed in the reserve. The Chips and Headquarters, which were withdrawn from the Map, will be available again after 24 hours. Chips which are in the reserve may be deployed on the Global Map during the next turn after leaving.

2. Main Objectives of the Third Stage

2.1. During the Third Stage, Clans can get bonuses to their Fame Points in two ways: by increasing the number of owned Provinces, or by fighting with Clans who have more Provinces than them.

2.2. The gameplay multiplier, G (see calculation formula), in the Third Stage of the Campaign depends on the number of owned Clan Provinces, and on the difference between the number of Provinces in the possession of the competing Clans.

G = 1 + (N1 + N2 / N1) × 0.25

N1 - number of provinces which are owned by a Clan (if a Clan has no provinces, N1 = 1);

N2 - number of provinces owned by the enemy Clan (if the Clan has no provinces, N2 = 1).

2.3. The calculated G coefficient is rounded to one decimal place.

2.4. The G coefficient is calculated depending on the situation at the current turn, before the Province moves into the possession of another Clan.


Clan K1 owns only P1 Province. K2 Clan owns three provinces: P2, P3 and P4. K1 Clan attacks K2 Clan on P2 province, wins a battle and becomes the new owner of the Province on the next turn. During the current turn, K2 is still the owner of the Province, so the Fame Points multiplier will be calculated as follows:

  • When calculating Fame Points for K1 players, multiplier G should be calculated according to the formula:
    N1 = 1, N2 = 3
    G = 1 + (1 + 3/1) × 0.25 = 1 + 4 × 0.25 = 2
  • When calculating Fame Points for K2 players, multiplier G should be calculated according to the formula:|
    N1 = 3, N2 = 1
    G = 1 + (3 + 1/3) × 0.25 = 1 + 3.3 × 0.25 = 1.8

Thus, the Fame Points of K1 players should be calculated using multiplier G=2, and the Fame Points of K2 players should be calculated using multiplier 1.8.

3. Additional Tasks of the Third Stage

3.1. Invasion: a Clan who defeats a rival Clan owning three or more Provinces gets 10% more Fame Points for the battle (in calculation formula Z = 1.1).

3.2. Starting from the First Stage and until the end of the Third Campaign, players can perform landing missions. The full list and rules of performing such missions may be found in the General Regulations of the Third Campaign.

3.3. Additionally, throughout the Campaign players can perform secondary and special missions, the list of which is available in the General Regulations.

Fall of the Empires: Historical Background

By the end of World War I, four empires had ceased to exist: Russian, German, Ottoman and Austro-Hungarian.

During the February Revolution of 1917, the monarchy in Russia was overthrown. During the October Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War in 1918-1921, there was a total collapse of the empire. The territory of the former Russian Empire was divided into approximately 80 short-lived states , but by 1924 most of this territory was united in the form of the USSR.

As a result of Germany’s defeat in World War I, their colonies were occupied and later divided among the victorious countries. On 9 November 1918, a revolution started in Germany, which resulted in the deposing of the monarchy and the foundation of the Weimar Republic.

The Ottoman Empire's defeat in World War I and the occupation of Istanbul and Izmir led to the beginning of the Turkish National Movement. The Turkish War of Independence in 1919 to 1923 ended with the victory of the Turks. Under the terms of a peace treaty, Turkey lost control of Arabia, Egypt, Sudan, Tripolitania, Cyrenaica, Mesopotamia, Palestine, Transjordan, Lebanon and Syria, the islands in the Aegean Sea and other areas. On 1 November 1922 the sultanate was abolished and on 29 October 1923 Turkish Grand National Assembly announced the establishment of the Turkish Republic. On 3 March 1924, the caliphate was also abolished.

In 1918, economic crisis, a difficult situation at the front, and the collapse of the neighboring Russian Empire, lead to the disintegration of Austro-Hungarian Empire. On 6 November Austria-Hungary ceased to exist and was proclaimed as a republic. On the territory of the former empire, several new states appeared: Czechoslovakia, Poland, and the Republic of Austria-Hungary. Other regions became a part of Romania, Yugoslavia and Italy.
