Originally, the word marathon comes from the legend of Pheidippides, a messenger said to have run the distance from the Greek town of Marathon to Athens, in order to bring news of a decisive Greek victory over the Persians—a turning point in the Persian Invasion of Greece.
Today, the marathon takes on a slightly different meaning in World of Tanks, as we present to you a series of tournaments that will run over the last week of the year. Every day, the sizes of the teams and the vehicle Tiers will increase in size, up to the last competition on Friday, which will be played in 7 versus 7 on Tier X—the Wargaming.net League format.
Free choice. You can take part in all the tournaments that you want without any restrictions or limitations. If you want to play in the Tier II and Tier VI competitions for example, you are more than welcome to do so. You do not specifically have to register to any mandatory day or format, and there are no limitations on the number of tournaments you can join. Simply make your pick and enjoy what you like.
If you are a true marathon runner and you think you can keep the distance, then by all means, do play every day!
The athletes of the marathon will be worthy of medals. Or in this case... hardware! Anyone who plays in one of the tournaments on Monday 26 and/or Tuesday 27 December will be eligible for an exclusive raffle for Logitech prizes. We hope this will help you enjoy the World of Tanks marathon as you would an Olympic one.
How will this work? During the evening of Wednesday 28 December, a Facebook live session will be running on our official Facebook page. During this short event, random tournament participants will be drawn who will snag the following:
G 302 Mouse x 2
G 303 Mouse x 3
G 230 Headset x 10
The winners will be contacted through the forum in the days after the raffle.
