has taken the spotlight in the Premium Shop, but now it is back and just as big of a shining star as it was on its first day. Sergeant Wardaddy's variant of a Sherman tank saw its debut in World of Tanks way back in 2014 for the release of the Hollywood movie of the same name: Fury.
While the story of the movie is fictional, the depiction of the “Easy Eight” tank and its commander Don "Wardaddy" Collier is based on a real Allied tank commander. Sergeant Lafayette G. "War Daddy" Pool was deployed to Europe just after D-Day. He, his crew, and three M4 Sherman tanks, all of them nicknamed “In The Mood” and successively destroyed, were able to take out 270 enemy vehicles in only 79 days before Pool was injured and transported back to the United States.
