FV215b (183)

Meet our fourth item: The X FV215b (183) isn't nicknamed the "death star" for nothing. Big, slow moving, and packing a 183 mm cannon, once this menace finds its target, defeat can come at any moment. Enemies who stare down the barrel of its 183 mm L4 cannon are sure to get a sinking feeling that very few vehicles can match—other than the X FV4005 Stage II , perhaps. Just knowing there's a FV215b (183) on the opposing team can be a terrifying experience.

In Update 9.21, the FV215b (183) was replaced by the X FV217 Badger on the U.K. Tech Tree (although players who already owned the TD could keep it). Now, it's classified as a Reward Vehicle.

Take a look at this bad boy and get ready to bid!

The parameters displayed are valid for the vehicle with each crew member trained to 100% major qualification level. Some vehicle characteristics can be further improved with the Commander's bonus to major qualification level, crew perks, and skills, as well as special in-game items.

Firepower

Single-shot damage is this vehicle's most important feature. The FV215b (183) tears off an average 1,150 HP with 310/230/92 mm of penetration. It can destroy high-tier medium tanks, and even some heavy vehicles, with a single hit. Of the available ammunition types, HESH rounds are the most effective and deal enormous damage. Getting a one-shot kill isn't guaranteed, but shots that hit the mark usually leave the enemy on the verge of destruction.

Still, this TD's fantastic alpha damage and 2,300 DPM come with complications and disadvantages, including low accuracy, a long aiming time, a two-shell-per-minute rate of fire, and a turret that can't turn more than 90 degrees. Of course, you can use the right equipment and a well-trained crew to reduce these liabilities, and nothing should discourage you from maximizing this vehicle's effectiveness.

Survivability

The FV215b (183) is hardly a front-line bruiser, meaning that players have two options: shoot from a distance and hide, or move in a group. The well-armored front turret (254/178/32 mm) and hull (152/50/76 mm) offer some protection, but nothing that holds up for long in a face-to-face duel. Stay out of sight, pick your target, and patiently wait for the right moment to fire.

And don't underestimate the FV215b (183)'s fear factor! Even if multiple enemies are waiting just around the corner, they may hesitate to attack for fear of taking a fatal round. The cannon's terrifying and distinctive boom also puts enemies on edge.

Mobility

As expected, the vehicle's sheer size results in sluggish mobility. With a top speed of 34 km/h and a slow hull and turret traverse speed, the FV215b (183) is a sitting duck if caught in the open. After all, faster vehicles can use circle-strafe fire, prey on your weak spots, and chew through your 2,000 HP pool in short order. That's why it's best to stay back, watch your teammates storm the front, and give support with your bombastic firepower.
