Season 9 on the Global Map

Commanders!

Summer is in full swing and we're sure that after enjoying the weather, friends, and holidays, you will be hungry for your favourite kind of entertainment - World of Tanks.

Here’s what we have prepared for you and your clan mates.

Season 9 on the Global Map will start on 17 July at 10:10 and lasts until 28 August at 10:00 CEST (UTC+2) but keep in mind that the last battles will be fought on 27 August!

Features of the Global Season

Both Fronts are becoming more distinct with Tier VIII continuing to feature the classical layout and Firefly provinces spicing it up for those of you still honing clan warfare skills. The Tier X front, being the place where experts of armoured combat want to be, will see an expansion of the Firefly province concept on a much grander scale. You will notice that the number, placement and Gold values of the most profitable provinces changed again but this will last only for a while. Just like with real war, fronts change, objectives are updated and land you will want to own will change too! Expect your Map strategists to be busy this Season!

You will find details of the usual parameters below but here are the biggest tweaks we have made to the mode based on your feedback:

  • Ransacks are out! – to make our plans for both fronts valid, this mechanic has been suspended for the duration of this Season.
  • We have added three maps to the rotation! – Siegfried Line, Serene Coast and Overlord will be featured in a small percentage of all provinces. You will have a chance to encounter the last two on Provinces with access to the sea.
  • Landing provinces are placed only on the front borders – our Community Managers reported to us that you asked to reduce their numbers.
  • Auction provinces – landing there may be met with fierce resistance from clans owning land nearby.
  • No-show penalties revamped – we hope that this change will allow you more freedom in placing strategic bids. Remember that standing someone up is never cool, be it your girlfriend or opposing clan!

Leaderboard and Rewards

Every acquisition of gold from the Global Map in the clan vault, irrespective of the way it was acquired (completing missions, owning provinces, or ransacks), increases the clan's position. Thus, the indicator of success on the Global Map is simple and clear. The clan that has earned more gold is the winner.

The rewards for clan members will depend on the clan's position on the season leaderboard.
