After 4 years filled with excitement and gun-blazing action, the time has come for the Global Map’s well-deserved retirement. Consequently, the floor (or the battlefield, if you like) will be given to the New Global Map. That’s right, we are pleased to announce that on 19 August at 04:00 CEST (UTC+2), the new Global Map will be open for business! The new motto: Challenge the World!
The Global Map will be divided into regions, known as Fronts. Each of them will have a custom border, set of provinces, battle rules and available tank tiers. Unlike the original Global Map, clans will be able to choose in which vehicle tier they want to fight. Each Front will have its own battle format according to vehicle tier. Therefore, clans with no top-tier tanks that previously could only dream of landing on the Global Map will now be able to do this even with low-tier tanks.
The new Global Map will be launched with the following Fronts:
The Front geography will cover the territory of almost all of Europe. In comparison with the Open Beta test, the number of provinces on the Global Map will be increased and will consist of almost 2,000 Provinces. This number of provinces is not final and will grow according to game activity on the Map.
The new Global Map will also feature Seasons. Seasons are special events that will be held on the map and in which clans will be able to participate and compete with one another for special prizes – similarly to the events and campaigns of the old Global Map.
In order to fight and perform other operations on the Map, clans need influence. To get Influence, clans have to destroy enemy divisions on the Global Map or participate in Skirmishes in Strongholds. Influence may be used for Auction participation, for purchasing and equipping divisions, and for increasing provinces' profitability.
A new and unique format to capture provinces on the Global Map will be introduced – the Auction. In Auctions, clans will be able to use their Influence to place bids to have the right to fight with the province owner. A clan that has no Provinces in their possession will be able to apply for participation in the landing Auction on any Province (except Landing Provinces) and if the clan wins the Auction, a battle with the Province owner will be planned. This functionality will significantly reduce the time required for capturing territories. Note that defensive bids will be switched off at the time of release.
From now on, no clan can feel completely safe!
Replacing the usual chips system, a new tactical unit comes into play – a Division that does not depend on the number of clan members. Now you no longer need to keep inactive players in your clan to move one chip to the whole roster, and you can be sure that if a battle was agreed it will take place. Divisions will be acquired for Influence earned in battles on the Global Map and in Strongholds. In addition, each division will be equipped with special modules, giving a variety of advantages.
By using Influence, clans will be able to improve captured provinces and get more gold from them. Now your Province Income will depend on the amount of resources for improvement and the success of a clan on the Global Map – the more your clan wins (increasing its ELO-rating), the more income you will receive from your Province!
