In World of Tanks, there are two lines of German heavy tanks with rear-mounted turrets. One is leading up to the Maus, the other to the Pz.Kpfw. VII. The latter is famed for its thick armour and high overall survivability, as well as good firepower, and so is the VK 75.01 (K).

Gameplay

Like many high-tier German heavy tanks, the VK 75.01 (K) boasts amazing survivability. Frontally, it is protected by thick, angled armour, that deflects most of the shots fired at you. You can increase your effective armour thickness by moving in a zig-zag pattern. Always try to hide the lower frontal armour plate, that one is your main weak spot. Because of the turret at the rear and the strong side armour, side-scraping will seem like a game for kids for you. Overall, this heavy tank is effective both in offence and defence.

Heavy armour means a heavy weight, so you're right to think that this tank won't be moving quickly to its destination. Decide during the countdown where you want to go, and then stick to the flank for the duration of the battle. Also, you're prone to faster vehicles getting to your sides and rear, so keep a little bit of a distance.

Mind that the gun depression angle isn't all that great; stay away from uneven terrain.

As for the gun, it comes with a powerful 12.8 cm boomstick. The damage per shot is currently THE best value of all Tier VIII Premium heavy tanks and is as high as the one top Tier vehicles have. An advantage like this obviously means there are drawbacks you need to pay attention to. That would be the very high reload time – make sure to trade shots, as most opponents could shoot you multiple times while you reload. The accuracy, stabilisation, and aiming time are all sub-par, but you can still work with it. Again: stay close, but not too close, to your targets.

We recommend the Tank Gun Rammer because of the aforementioned low rate of fire. The Vertical Stabilizer and the Enhanced Gun Laying Drive will help you aim faster and hit more reliably, so you see the big numbers pop up more often.
