The Skoda T 40 is the very first Czechoslovakian Premium vehicle in World of Tanks. It combines its own design with some German influence, resulting in a vehicle with different qualities from both countries. All in all, this Tier VI medium tank is a powerful adversary in the right hands. Find out here how to unleash its potential!

Gameplay

Looking at the armour layout of this vehicle, you will immediately see that the Skoda T 40's strength is definitely not that. Also, its large silhouette certainly doesn't help in that situation. The only good thing is the small turret, making it easier to hide behind terrain. All in all, we can agree that the Skoda T 40 is not meant to take damage.

As usual for medium tanks, the mobility is good enough to allow you to go to any crucial position in a reasonable time. You also have a good view range to spot enemy tanks early, which you can enhance with different equipment to get more out of it.

Its armament is a modified version of the German short 8.8 cm gun. Instead of APCR, the Premium ammunition type is HEAT. Apart from that, the characteristics are pretty much the same as the German ones. The good damage and high rate of fire allow you to either trade shots with weaker tanks or smack bigger opponents multiple times before they reload. Watch out for the mediocre penetration and accuracy. You'll have to be at least at mid-range to hit your opponent reliably.

Playing hull-down with the Skoda T 40 can be quite challenging. The problem isn't so much the gun depression, which is okay, but the mix of that and the aforementioned tall profile. You'll need to find out how to position yourself properly to show as little of your tank as possible.

Equipment

Recommended Setup

Hover your cursor over the images for more information on each piece of equipment.

To make the most out of the 8.8 cm gun, the Tank Gun Rammer and the Improved Ventilation should be sufficient. The Coated Optics will grant a bonus to your view range, giving you some more versatility in terms of spotting opponents earlier. If the aiming time bothers you, use an Enhanced Gun Laying Drive instead of the Coated Optics or the Improved Ventilation – it really depends on your preferences.
