M4A1 Revalorisé

The M4A1 Revalorisé is originally an American Sherman, but now fighting on the French side. It received a massive armament and health pool upgrade, while other characteristics, such as armour or mobility, did not change at all. Now it's time to find out how to make the strongest Sherman work out for you!

Gameplay

If you have played Sherman tanks before, you obviously know that for most of them, the armour is already insufficient in their tiers. Obviously, with the same armour layout on Tier VIII, you can bet that enemies won't have any problems penetrating your armour either. However, the HP increased a lot, which is also something you can work with.

As stated above, the French Sherman received a massive upgrade to its armament – now it has a powerful 105 mm gun, capable of dealing great damage to other vehicles. Of course, this comes at a price of a longer reload time, and mediocre aiming time and accuracy. The standard ammunition is APCR, which means that the shell velocity is higher than usual, which helps you hit moving targets more easily. However, that doesn't make the M4A1 Revalorisé a sniper tank, but rather suited for short and medium-range combat.

Just like all Sherman-based vehicles, this one features amazing gun depression. Use it to hide your vulnerable hull, and even though the turret also doesn't withstand much punishment, it makes it much harder for the enemy to hit you.

The mixture of mediocre mobility and 'just okayish' penetration power makes it very difficult to flank heavy vehicles properly. That's why we advise you to focus on other medium tanks. When engaging these, start trading shots with them, meaning that each of you shoot once and then reload in cover (rinse and repeat). Thanks to your high damage, you usually deal way more damage than you take, and win such encounters more often.

If possible, always keep some distance between you and the enemy. Your damage per minute is not high, and if the enemy can continuously shoot you while you reload, chances are high that you will get destroyed.
