After the Panther II, the E 50 is finally a proper heavy medium tank. Almost anything that could have bothered you while playing the previous vehicle has been improved to a point that it's no longer an issue. On top of that, it kept pretty much all of the Panther II's strengths.

Gameplay

In terms of armour, there have been improvements all across the board. The E 50 has quite a strong hull. The upper frontal plate can withstand even heavy fire, but the lower plate is obviously a weak spot that you need to hide, if possible. Otherwise, angle it or side-scrape – the side armour is strong enough for you to do that fairly easily. While the turret armour has been improved, it's still flat. Well-aimed shots will penetrate very often, so keep your vehicle in motion to make it harder for them to hit the flat parts.

Because this vehicle is quite large, you can try and hide most of it by playing on hilly terrain. In those areas, you will only show your turret, making you a much smaller target.

Yes, mobility-wise there have been several improvements, but its great weight is still very noticeable, which means it will take a while to gain speed. However, once it does, the E 50 is an absolute beast when it comes to ramming. We also want to point out the high view range, because it will come in handy, as your gun is very much capable of hitting what you can spot yourself. By the way, you have two guns to choose from:

  • 8.8 cm KwK L/100: taken from the Panther II, it performs much, much better on the E 50. Incredible accuracy, great aiming time, high rate of fire compensate for the low damage, paired with the now average penetration power. It requires a special gameplay, using your strong DPM
  • 10.5 cm Kw.K. L/52 Ausf. B: our recommendation of what you should go for. It has the perfect balance of damage per shot, accuracy and aiming time - everything just fits together. Also, it's used on the next vehicle, the E 50 Ausf. M (with minor improvements)

The E 50 can be used to either push other medium tanks - thanks to its high survivability -, and heavy tanks in certain situations, or to support other flanks by taking a couple of precise shots at any target you might see. With this tank, you'll have plenty of choices!
