Account Transfer: FAQ

Update from January 22, 2023

The vast majority of active players have already made a choice, so we have come to the next stage of the separation of companies, which will begin on February 1:

  • accounts of players who live in Russia and Belarus and who have not made their choice earlier will be transferred to the RU-region;
  • the accounts of other players who did not make their choice earlier will be transferred to the EU region.

Account Transfer Rules

Due to the company division, you, as a player of the CIS region (i.e., a player registered on ru.wargaming.net ), must choose which region your account will be located in and which company will process your data:

  • the EU region operated by Wargaming, or
  • the RU region operated by Lesta Games.

If you transfer your account to the EU region, then you agree to the Account Transfer Rules.

If you transfer your account to the RU region for Russia and Belarus, you agree that:

  • You will be able to play from your account only in the RU region operated by Lesta Games. Access to Wargaming games and services from your account will not be possible.
  • You initiate the transfer of your data to Lesta Games, which is necessary for continued play. Data processing will be carried out in accordance with the privacy policy of Lesta Games.
  • If you transfer your account to the RU region, you agree to the terms of the End User License Agreement with Lesta Games. You should send all questions, including those pertaining to the use of the account, before its transfer to the RU region, to the Lesta Games support service.
  • If you live outside of Russia or Belarus, you'll not be able to make purchases in the RU region.
  • You will not be able to play with friends and clan members who decide to switch to the EU region or who are yet to make their choice.

  • Second Authentication Factor or Two-factor authentication is an additional level of account protection against hacking: to confirm all important operations, the system, in addition to the main password, will request a one-time password from a special application on your mobile device. You can enable it in your personal account.
  • Progress is the player's achievements in various areas: vehicle research, earned experience, rewards, and so on.
  • Comeback is a transfer of the account back from the EU-region to the RU-region or from the RU-region to the EU-region.

How does the account transfer take place?

In September, in your personal account and WGC, you'll be able to initiate the transfer of your account to the EU region or confirm your desire to continue playing in the RU region with Lesta Games. You'll need to make a choice by accepting all relevant rules. Note: account transfer can take from several hours to several days in some cases.

What happens during account transfer?

Account transfer to the EU region (Wargaming)

  • During the transfer, a new account is created in the EU region, to which your progress in all projects will be moved (for example, if you have progress in World of Tanks and World of Warships, it will be transferred in both projects). You cannot transfer the progress of only one project and continue playing World of Tanks in the EU region and World of Warships in the RU region.
  • The new account gets a nickname according to the rules: if the existing nickname isn't already in use in the EU region, it will be transferred without change. If the nickname is already in use, the system will create a technical nickname that can be changed later for free.
  • The account in all games in the CIS region will be blocked and forwarded for deletion.
  • If you are a clan commander in World of Tanks, then a clan will be created in the EU region, and clan property from the CIS region (Treasury, Stronghold, Industrial Resource, etc.) will be transferred. The clan in the CIS region will be dissolved.
  • If you are a clan commander in World of Warships, then a clan will be created in the EU region. If the clan name or tag is already used in the EU region, a random name and tag will be assigned to the clan, which can be changed later for free. Clan buildings and achievements will not be transferred, but you'll get back all earned oil. The clan in the CIS region will be dissolved, and its name and tag will be blocked for 30 days.
  • Some game assets in the projects cannot be transferred to the EU region. Also, some assets will be modified in whole or in part.

Account transfer to the RU region (Lesta Games)

From the player's point of view, nothing changes except the change of the company that will continue to operate the game.

What should I do if the choice was wrong or I want to make another choice?

Account transfer to the EU region (Wargaming)

If you mistakenly initiated the transfer of your account to the EU region, you need to stop the deletion process in your personal account and then contact player support.

Account transfer to the RU region (Lesta Games)

In your personal account, you'll have the opportunity to start transferring your account to the EU region.

How much time do I have to make a decision? (updated 19/09/2022)

You can postpone the decision until October 12, 2022, when you'll have to make a choice; otherwise you'll not be able to continue the game.

After October 12, 2022, the transfer option will remain, but you'll not be able to continue the game until a choice is made.

How long will the account transfer option be available?

At the moment, there is no deadline for transferring the account. We will definitely let you know if something changes.

Will there be a forced transfer if I'm not able to make payments in the RU region from my country of living?

There will be no forced account transfer. Every player makes a decision themselves where to play. However, by choosing an EU region or RU region without the possibility of using payment methods available in this region/company, the player will lose the opportunity to make purchases.
