Definitions of terms

Definitions of terms

  • Captain/Team Captain: A player representing the interest of their team in the Tournament. They are responsible for the organisation of their team and make decisions on behalf of them.
  • The slot in the team: A place available to be taken inside a team.
  • Player: A person with a World of Tanks account. All players can join a team if they want to take part in tournaments. A player who is taking part in a tournament becomes a Tournament Participant.
  • Member: Any player, including a Captain, taking part in the Tournament with their team.
  • Team: A group of players that work together as a single unit. Team vs Team is the standard format for eSports. Teams can consist of anything from 3 to 15 players depending on the tournament rules and format.
  • Admin: The official responsible for running the tournament. All instructions given to tournament participants by the administrator must be followed.
  • Game: A single battle, or game, is the base unit of a match. The terms 'battle' and game' can be used interchangeably.
  • Match: A series of games that determine the winner.
  • Respawn: A place on the map that is the original location of the tanks.
  • Tie-Break: A decisive battle that will determine the outcome of a match — used when the previous battles could not determine a winner.
  • Roster: The pre-declared setup of a team before the match.
  • Best of (Bo): A victory condition. Determines the maximum number of battles that will be fought, the winner being the team that is first to win more than half the total amount — for example in a Bo3 match, the first team to reach two victories is victorious.
