Commanders,

On April 28th and 29th, Wargaming, will hold the Go4WoT Allstar tournament in Cologne. It will be a historical event, where you will be able to meet the top players in Europe! The Wargaming team will be there too together with the 4 Top Clans from the first quarter of the Go4WoT weekly cups.

4 clans who take part in this event are:

To get to know these 4 clans better, we will highlight each of them in the upcoming interviews. The first interviewed team was the Red, the second was Odem Mortis. This week belongs to 1SBP Panzer Fist.

Interview with Maczok, from 1SBP Panzer Fist
How did you first get into World of Tanks and how did the team meet?

My adventure started in beta. I saw a commercial in web and wanted to try the new tank game. Back then I was a huge fan of World of Warcraft, but since I love WWII history I decided to give World of Tanks a try - just one game... (laughs) And so I'm here now. Me and my team, we are all part of one clan called "Sarmacki Batalion Pancerny" more known as 1SBP. The clan was formed in early beta by its current clan leader – Luzak. Nowadays it has around 300 members. We played in all tournaments organized by Wargaming. When ESL started his cup I decided to give it a try and formed 1SBP Pzf (Panzer Fist). I recruited members of my clan that wanted to dig dipper into the game.

Who is the team joker and why?

It's a hard question. Every member of my team plays an important role. Our joker is our friendship and teamwork.

You have 15 members in the team, do you have a core 7 players or do you decide on the day who to take depending on the other team?

It's a funny story. We have 15 members but our lineup is around 10 players. Rest of them are just friends who we ask for help when lacking more people. This can happen 5 minutes before the battle starts.
Yes, we have a 1st squad and players I consider substitutions. They are as good as 1st team players and proving it in countless occasions. Our players have specialisations. We have HT, scouts, artillery specialists etc. the same story goes with substitutions.

What team do you fear the most and which one do you look forward to playing with?

There is only one team we look forward to play with. That's of course The RED: Rush. We faced them countless times in ESL Go4WoT and EMS season 1 series but claimed only 1 victory. We’re working hard to prepare well for our next meeting.

Now that patch 7.2 is live, what crew skills are you favouring for tournament play and what do you think of the new crew skills?

That's a tough question. Many of them are great in certain situations or in the specified roles, but since we can't force those situations to always occur on the battlefield, we mainly rely on the old skills. So we prefer camouflage and repair skills over the crew member defined ones.

What is your favoured tank line up and why? How do you feel about the current tank choice meta-game, do you practice with tanks that have an advantage over the tanks you opponents often pick?

We have our favourite line up. 3xHT, T5 artillery, T1 scout, T5 scout and T7 light/medium. As we see it in the current meta-game this isn't any superior line up. It all depends on the tactic, map knowledge and players’ skills. French tanks are great in 1 vs 1 combat but they are easy targets for artillery so we don't find them as much OP as many thinks.

What is your strongest map? how do you feel about the "Random map" format in the current season, does it help to have that random chance or would you prefer to be able to ban a specific map out?

Our strongest map is probably Abbey. We have many tactics for that map and it gives us chance to adjust our tactic if we fail to catch enemy off guard at 1st clash. Random map format is really bad since there are maps that are unbalanced like for example Arctic region. We are strongly against random map choice format.

Do you have any "Ritual" you perform as a team before each game?

Well it's more like my final words than a ritual but... before every game I say: "aim one single target, mark targets and take cover if you need" Words of wisdom (laughs).

We hope to see you in the AllStar event!
