Recap of the Italian Wargaming Day

It was midday on Saturday, February 22, as a large group of Wargaming players began to assemble outside the entrance to the Italian Air Force Museum on the shores of the beautiful Lake Bracciano to meet with staff from Wargaming Europe: Community Manager Brynd, World of Tanks Community Product Specialist Obirian, and Community Coordinator Dakiras.

The first order of the day? A delicious meal of roast chicken and lasagna in the mensa (the officers’ mess hall), accompanied by excellent Italian red and white wines, followed by an assortment of classic Italian dessert treats, and a lovely glass of champagne.

Appetites fully sated, the group split into two separate tour groups: one in Italian and the other in English. The grand tour of the air force museum kicked off!

Following the lengthy, in-depth tour of the museum, the two groups merged together again in the museum’s dedicated convention room for the distribution of cool goodies in the form of Wargaming Community T-shirts, and bonus premium tank and plane code cards.

The day was drawing to a close and soon the museum would need to shut its doors for the day, so a brief Q&A session was held and then the group assembled outside for a photo.

We had a fantastic time during the meal, museum tour, and the Q&A session. We especially enjoyed meeting with Italian players and interacting with the extremely helpful and supportive air force museum and base staff.

Though we were only in Italy for a couple of days, our visit there will be remembered fondly for a long time and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to return to Italy and meet once again with Italian players.

Arrivederci! A presto!
Goodbye! See you soon!
