I’m a Community Manager for the EU English language team.
I like playing football whenever I have the chance (5 or 6 a sides), playing computer games, going to the gym (just started!), and reading. Fairly normal boring stuff tbh. Wish I could say “skydiving” or something like “Buffalo Wresting”. Hmm Buffalo Wresting… I think I might have invented a new sport there.
What did you do before joining Wargaming?
I was a Game Master for World of Warcraft.
Competitive. I won’t lie about that. I get angry if I lose team games through people doing something silly or not listening to advice. I can be chilled out and relaxed when playing with friends. I like to win. I also like to joke about.
A fresh approach, an honest voice, my sense of humor and a desire to make the community a place where everyone is welcome. A gamer who is there to talk to gamers. Oh, and a cool accent because I’m Scottish!
I get to go to cool places and meet players as part of my job. I really like that side of the job and enjoy being able to meet the people I talk to on the forums. I also like playing with the players at events and livestreams as it’s always a great laugh.
My "go to" tanks at the moment are the Centurion 7/1 and the Tiger. Both have highly accurate guns with great penetration. The rate of fire on the Tiger when fully upgraded can surprize a lot of enemies. I also have a soft spot for the Hellcat. It's great fun to shoot and scoot!
I was playing with a player called Quickybaby during a special livestream for the release of the British Tanks. I told him to look at me as I was going to do a “sweet jump” Instead of floating down gracefully like planned; my Crusader plummeted off a bridge like a rock and exploded. Everyone saw it and the livestream chat just erupted into laughter.
I’m one of the two Community Managers for our “English” Community, which is like our “default” community including all languages and countries not already supported by one of our specific language teams like German, Polish, French…etc.
I’m very computer-oriented, so it wouldn’t be right not to make that really clear. I spend a lot of my spare time playing games when I probably should be pursuing my other interests like writing. I’m a bit of a “thinker,” I love history, science, space exploration, the history of human evolution and development of civilization… and more.
Most recently I was in the Community team at Blizzard Europe here in France, for almost five years, but in the past I was a game designer and developer in the UK for places like Lionhead Studios, and worked on games like “The Movies,” and the “Creatures” artificial life game series. I’m originally from New Zealand and before getting into the games dev industry I was determined to be a writer, actor and director. Funny how things change!
I’m a great fan of novel games with unique gameplay, but also love strategy and role-playing games too. I’m competitive but in a team environment, for example, when I used to raid, I would compete with my team mates depending on my role: dps or healing, always pushing to ensure I was pushing to be as optimal as I can.
A great deal of experience within both the games dev industry but also in the Community team role. I’m also very passionate about players’ right to provide feedback, suggestions and indeed criticism and ensuring this gets heard.
"Happiness is not a destination, it is a way of traveling."
It’s great to be part of something a team that’s vital, full of energy and wanting to expand and grow.
Well, I’m much deeper into World of Warplanes now, so I’ll be cheeky and say my favourite plane is the Spitfire I. But I’m also quite keen on German heavy fighters. Tanks, probably something British out of a sense of loyalty to the British Commonwealth.
Hmm… first time skiing back in New Zealand, I broke my leg while having a lesson. Third time skiing, I was almost crushed to death. I suspect my fourth time might be my most epic fail, if I ever dare to try skiing again!
Possibly invisibility. Possibly also immortality. Maybe it’d just be nice to achieve some of my lifetime goals and die as a contented old man.
I am an English Community Coordinator.
Gaming, travelling, painting (slightly neglected though), beauty and makeup and more. Oh and I love collecting fridge magnets!
I started as a jr. accountant in my hometown of Belgrade, then moved to HR & Payroll. It was a great experience but not something what I was passionate about. Instead I decided to pursue what I really love and that is gaming so I ended up in Ireland and working as a Game Master for Blizzard Ent. for a few years.
Casual, "play 4 fun"
I am an empathic person which I believe is a great quality to have if you are working in this industry, especially as a community representative. Relating to, but more importantly understanding, the issues our players may be experiencing and showing that you genuinely care is crucial. I am also a bundle of laughs and giggles and have been known to make just as bad puns as Ectar, Brynd and all the other community staff! ;)
"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"
The family atmosphere! We take pride in maintaining the "small company feel" despite having over 160 staff members from 23 nationalities working here in the EU office!
I enjoy playing Hellcat and recently purchased Tiger I which I am finding awesome!
I once rammed an E75 with my T71. The E 75 won.
More free wishes....
I’m a Community Coordinator for the English Language team. Essentially I’m here to be your first point of contact for any issues or ideas you might have via our social media and forums, and to keep you guys as happy as possible!
Well obviously I love gaming. I’m also into martial arts in a big way, even if I’m not particularly good at any of them. I grew up with a huge Bruce Lee hero worship thing going on. Not just from a martial arts point of view but his philosophy was and still is of great interest to me.
I worked for various gaming companies previous to Wargaming. One that stands out as an amazing experience was working on the sadly ill-fated LEGO Universe. I made many long term friends there and it was my first break in the games industry. :)
Honestly it depends from game to game. Sometimes I play sneaky and methodical, sometimes super aggressive. I’m usually pretty chilled out but I am prone to gently trolling people that get aggressive or start raging. I can’t help it ;)
A way with words, a sense of humour and dedication. Oh and an appreciation for animated gifs
“No way as way, no limitation as limitation.” Bruce Lee
Everyone here is always open and willing to help. I’ve never been made to feel more welcome at a company.
I like fast tanks with nice guns. The Cromwell and the ELC AMX spring to mind.
I was platooning with someone here and we were hunting arty. Platoon mate finds arty but gets one shot by him. I think I’ll be clever and circle round a building and hit him from behind, but I clipped the building and destroyed it, giving him a clear shot. So yeah that arty basically got 2 free kills out of us. :/ But hey, failure is necessary. If you never fail it means you never take risks.
I’d get rid of illness in all its forms. Maybe I’m just saying this because I have a cold right now.
